2004 - Highlights/Lowlights

Now the New Year celebrations have all but finished I thought I'd ask what were your highlights and lowlights of 2004?

2004 was a great year for me:

Highlights...TOP 5:
Purchase of my own house!
Meeting Kevin Spacey!
Visit to Number 10!
Seeing Maroon 5 (On and off stage)!
Learning to dive....finally!

Lowlights...
The Earthquake
Working Christmas Day and New Years Day!

2004 - Highlights/Lowlights
2004 wasn't really the best year for me. It wasn't completely dreadful, but on balance I think the lows had a more significant impact than the high's...

Highlights:

1. Learning a new technical skill at work which makes me more marketable, and getting a fantastic payrise on the strength of it.

2. Going to Egypt - fascinating place and somewhere that Mr H has always longed to see.

3. Finally managing to quit the fags properly (e.g. not even smoking a sneaky one or two when I've had a few drinks...)

Lowlights:

1. Seeing my fathers health deteriorate at an alarming rate

2. Discovering that my sister is NOT coming back to the UK in 2005 - but is in fact, going to live in Beijing for at least a year. It's very expensive to get there and is too far away for a long weekend, so I probaby won't see her for a very long time.

3. Being tired, overworked and stressed for large chunks of the year

4. Allowing work to take over my life to a silly degree.

5. Neglecting all the people who mean a lot to me (because of Point 4).

If at first you don't succeed, failure may be your style.

Highlights:

Moving to lovely house in the countryside
Inheriting some money which meant I could leave my horrid house and move here before I'd completed the sale of my horrid house

Lowlights:
Still haven't sold my horrid house

Oh well.

2004 HAS BEEN A VERY yuck SORT OF YEAR!

Lowlights:

General lack of money due to large, unforseen expenses!
Work coming in either all at once or not at all. Grrrrr.

Our best mate still in remission and fingers crossed, going to make a full recovery.

MustnT grumble then! Smile

2004 - Highlights/Lowlights
Highlights -

Performing in the west end Smile
Holiday in Florida
Doing fine in exams so far
Getting my new dog (Basher ... as named by my 10 year old brother lol)

Lowlights -

Coursework overload all year
Lack of time to do as much as I'd like outside school
Not a good year parents/me relationship wise Sad

It seems that work seems to be a big lowlight for most peoples years, and if it isn't work it's school! let's hope next year is more relaxing in those respects.

Highlights of the year for me are:

- getting a new job
- having a loft conversion and new kitchen
- son settling in well at secondary school

Can't really think of any lowlights apart from having a bit of a let down for a holiday. So all in all it's been a fairly good year for me but I'm looking forward to new stuff in 2005.

This, sorry last, year hasn't really had any major highlights or lowlights.
It's been one of those years that just trundle along and you get on with it.

I think 2005 is going to be the year for major changes in this house. I'm going to do my course and get back to work, then hubby is going to give up his job and look after the kids and maybe get part time work.
And also a move may or maynot be in the pipeline.

Oh wait a minute, there was one highlight in the year, the October meet:holiday: :drinking: :holiday:
