2005 is dead, long live 2006

So, what's been the highs and lows of 2005 for you? And what are you looking forward to/ dreading in 2006.

2005 has been a pretty terrible year for my family; mum had 2 strokes, the first while she was on holiday in Cyprus and none of us could get to her for a week, brother and sis-in-law had their house broken into and set fire to; sis had to go into hospital for major surgery, was turned down as an adoptive parent, and her old much loved cat died all within 6 weeks. We had a nightmare moving house with the world's crappest solicitors and eventually completed during the week of mum's first stroke. My brother in law had a blood clot in his leg and very nearly died; Cockney's nephew had a brain seizure and his son had been poorly too. Add to that we're the skintest we've ever been and it's been a bit of a beggar of a year all round.

On the plus side, we did finally move and are now living in a fab house in a place we love near both our families. Mum survived both strokes and is making excellent progress. I love my job and I feel like I've made a real difference - our school is improving hugely and I'm really looking forward to going back (at some point....)

But most of all I still have a husband I adore, a beatiful little girl and to top it all 2005 gave us Eddie, our fabulous surprise little boy, so it wasn't all bad.

Here's to 2006, to families and loved ones, to friends and children and the joy that they all bring.

Hoorah (hic)

Well, after my hellish few years with my stomach ailments, being in and out of the hospital, not being able to work on a regular basis....2005 kinda turned us around a bit. I've been feeling better tummy wise. Actually trying to get 1 full-time or 2 part-time jobs. We only owe for our house and that's not much!! Everyone is fairly healthy. I found out about the fibromyalgia I have so that's a load off even if it is painful from time to time. I have contact with all my friends and family that went through Hurricane Katrina and everyone seems to be bouncing right back! I'm happy with hubby and the kids are a joy each day (even if #1 may not live through to 17-due to occasional run-offs of his mouth). Parents and Outlaws are all well. Brothers and Sister are fine. Best friend I desparately miss, I'll get to see around Jan.11, as well as Granny in nursing home. So that means trip to hometown and that will ease homesickness!! In 2006 I want to accomplish several things that I feel I've been putting off b/c of fear and I plan on conquering that fear and just doin' it!!! I'll keep y'all posted as I do these things!! They are very important to me and still a little hard to announce out loud. I'm looking forward to getting out of the sidelines and getting in the game! I guess that's all...if it makes sense!

I guess I'm Cornish...
