Sorry to all who may think this thread is a waste of space but my baby took his first steps today,

I couldn't believe it! He took about 5 steps and was clapping his hands simultaneously!

Awww! You must be so happy!

How old is he now?

I've not got a clue about babies, when they start walking, talking etc...

Claire - you revel in your proud Mummy status - it is one of the reasons we go through child-birth is to be proud and tell everyone about thier milestones.

My youngest walked for the first time actually on his 1st birthday, yet his older brother took his first step at 7 months.

Flyo they are all different and take varying amount of time to do things. One of my greatest friends, was bald until she was four and didn't walk for nearly 26 months - just lazy they said. Nothing has changed LOL - still lazy, thankfully not bald though!!

I think my brother was meant to be the quick starter while I was the slow one, not too sure though...

Oh Claire, this is such a special day for you! I am so glad you have shared it with us.....

My 1st born is 18 (nearly 19) now but I still remember her 1st steps. She was 15 months old and I thought she would never walk. My other 2 were 18 months and 11 months respectively.

Well done to your little man today and a big hug for you both

Aww, Claire brag away and there are still so many "firsts" to come and each one is so special!

My two girls both walked a week after their first birthdays. I was a little sad when Abbie the youngest started to walk as she had the funniest crawl - she didn't crawl on her knees but on her feet and hands, and boy could she travel!

Special Hugs to your little one! Smile

Aww Claire, that is such a special moment, walking just after your 1st birthday isn't late at all.

Both my two didn't walk until they were at least 16months, but hey once they start you can't stop them:laugh:

Haev all the breakables been moved up another couple of feet:laugh:

I'm not trying to be self centred ..Perhaps nobody cares, but maybe one or two do... so I'll write anyway.

Just a quick report, my baby is walking around now full throttle.. a little wobbly sometimes and always banging into things, but walking nonetheless.

Something new and very exciting and cute ...

He's learnt to kiss!! (well he leans his lips toward your mouth) I love it! He gave me one now and I just had to come on here and say how happy I was because it makes me feel so good... I love my baby

I think it's lovely news Claire, you've every right to be proud! My daughter didn't bother walking until she was 14 months old, she could get everywhere she wanted to be on her backside and saw no reason to stand up! I kind of admire that actually

I'll join in on the boasting if you don't mind because my son is managing really well with the elemental nutritional drink things he's on, he will have completed 3 weeks this weekend and has put on weight already. I think he's blummin marvellous, and so's your little walker Smile
