Breakfast Radio

Help me - I'm in need of a new radio station.

I'll be moving fairly soon, which will mean a much longer journey to work in the mornings, so I need something to keep me entertained and awake. I've been a bit bereft since Chris Tarrant left Capital. Johnny Vaughan makes me want to kill people, Jonno Coleman on Heart annoys the bejaysus out of me, and Terry Wogan is just not a viable option.

What breakfast radio do you listen to?

Bear in mind I need music and a bit of a laugh

I'm a boring old radio 4 Today programme listener in the mornings Floopy - a bit too staid for you I think ... and definitely no music. But some surprising witty banter from time to time. ... give it a go!

... i only came online to visit Delia's site for tips on how to season a frying pan ...

It might work on the way home, but I'll be leaving home at about 6.30 so I'll need music to stop my brain from going back to sleep

I always listen to Pete and Geoff on Virgin, Floopy. They don't play poppy type stuff, more rock really. So you're not going to get Busted or McFly more Queen or Bon Jovi. Although I must point out that I quite like Busted and McFly but not all the other sh!t that is likely to accompany them.

And they make me laugh.

I listen to Southern FM which I think is great, they play the music I like and are quite witty, but I don't think you will be able to get it where you are floopy....

I always listen to radio 5 in the morning, I like to listen to debates and hear what is going on in the world. If I fancy a change it's radio 2.

Sorry can't help Floopy as I usually listen to my local radio station Radio Forth 1 with Boogey in the Morning. Although I have heard that Radio 2 is a popular choice.

This is my Radio station of choice too!

Like Max says, Pete and Geoff are really funny - thier breakfast show always gets me laughing in the morning. And there is plenty of good music if you like Indie or Rock. If you're into the likes of Lemarr, Britney or Basement Jaxx though, then this is probablynot the station for you.

If at first you don't succeed, failure may be your style.

Oh - I have on ocassion listened to XFM or KISS in the morning (if I can't get Virgin for some reason). They're not bad either. With XFM, you won't get many laughs but there's plenty of music (again, a lotof Rock /Indie stuff). KISS FM has a more varied playlist, so the pop and soul stuff is there if you like it!
