Charlton Heston has died

Charlton Heston, who won a best actor Oscar for his starring role in the epic Ben-Hur, has died aged 84.

Well, I suppose he's got to die sometime or other. HE had a good innings at 84.

I agree with Fee though that I thought he was a bit wooden as an actor, but most actors of that era were. I suppose he was a good actor when compared to other actors of his generation though. But if it hadn't been for Ben Hur, I doubt I could name another film that he was in.

I remember him more for his hard right political views, which were so extreme they were more than a bit scarey.

I remember him being in Ben Hur and The Ten Commandments, thought he was okay as an actor but he went down in my estimations with pro-gun campaigns.
