Christmas Lights

On Saturday a house just around the corner from my house put their outside Christmas Lights up

Do you put Christmas lights up outside your house or do you think they are (to quote miss ils) 'tacky' ?

I don't do it myself, but I do think it looks pretty cool if it's not overdone.

The house around the corner from me is covered. They have even put a pole up in the garden and they string lights to it. It is like Blackpool illuminations (sp)

Mine are all inside tho but in the windows so the outside can share.

Its very nice as long as you remember to turn them off when you go to bed, or else you wake up to go to the loo in flashing red lights......very dissorienting, especially if still half cut.

Smilersmurf - we do the same. There is one house that outdo's itself every year - the children love it.

When my sis and I were little we used to love counting the number of Xmas trees in front windows on the way home from Grandma's house. It meant that Santa wan't too far away!!

I have a few lights in the windows but none outside. My next door neighbour does and it lights up the street. I think they are going to spend next weekend putting them up (yes it takes all weekend).

Personally I wouldn't have them on my house, but there are more and more people who are putting them up.

There is a house round the corner from us that has just put there's out. The kids love looking at them. Everytime we go past the corner shop and they see the Father Christmas light, their eyes just light up.

I remember when I live in America, now they know how to do it.
I went to a Christmas party once to my manager's place and all over the inside of the house were these different little villages all lit up, with a train going around the tree. And of course outside you couldn't see the houses for all the lights they had on them.

A bit off topic but kind of on the same theme, one house where I lived in florida, at Halloween used to fill their front garden with carved pumpkins, and it wasn't a small gardenHuh
