Doing what you're not supposed to

Doing what you're not supposed to

My husband runs a mens football team. I am the Chairwoman.

I've just taken a phonecall from a new player, potential right fullback or midfield player who, frankly, was shocked & not a little bit surprised to be discussing footie positions with a woman. In his own words 'why do I need to know what position he plays'. I'd have given a lot to see his face when I told him 'cos I'm your chairwoman love & I'll be watching your trial & have the final say as to whether you're on the team or not'.

I don't think I'm unusual in being a woman who likes footie. I'm a bit unusual in the league as their aren't many women involved but why shouldn't their be? Why should anyone be surprised?

So, is their anything you do that people are surprised at or that people think a bloke should be doing in your place?

I'm usually thin & gorgeous - today is my day off

You are not Jaycee, but I do think a lot of men/boys seem to think that women can't know about football. I know most men I know are surprised at my knowledge of the game and they begrudgingly say 'that for a woman you do know a lot' :ranting:
