Don't beleive what you read!?!

I found this as I was scooting about the interwebbythingy and it made me smile (OK so I'm slightly odd) and it made me think......

What is the stangest REAL news story you've read about current affairs. Not stuff that's just weird or novelty (ie Ananova strange stories etc) but genuinely posted articles that either backfire or are just laughable.

Worked for me too! To be fair, when reports first came through, no-one thought for one minute that number of dead would rise to what it is now. However their figures are very tame to the first reports I had heard on Boxing Day night.
