Driving Theory Test

Right, I have my theory test for driving on Monday. (At 8:00AM! Gah! )

The thing is, i'm trying to do some practice tests and I NEVER seem to be able to get above the oh - so important 30 mark.

Has anybody got any tips they would like to pass on to me to help me pass? Or am i doomed to failure?

Also, what is their fascination with trams? They always seem to be in the test! :ranting:

You're not born lazy, it's an acquired skill

I passed my test so many years ago that we didn't have a theory test Mars, so I'm afraid I'm not much use to you.

But good luck to you on Monday!

Any time you get a question wrong, Mars, write it down, along with the correct answer.

Do a crib sheet of the ones you get wrong, then test yourself again and again.

It's the only way that works for me.

Driving Theory Test
My theory test consisted of sitting in the car after the driving bit, and the instructor asking me maybe 3 or 4 questions.

The biggie when I took the test was always stopping distances. I had them learnt to a T. Can't remember them now

When I took my test in the States, the biggie over there in the theory test was school buses. There were so many rules of how slow you should go if you saw one on the opposite side of the road, whether to overtake, blah, blah, blah. :wallbash:

Edited to say, sorry Mars I've not really been much help there have I Rolleyes I did my test a while ago, so I'd have no idea what kind of questions they ask nowadays.

Good luck anyhow

Well, you could try this link ....
Driving test theory
You can do a practice test, to give you an idea of how it is on Monday.
Again, I did my test many moons ago, so can't help you any more than this, but I think you should take the test once, and post your result in this thread. Smile

Ooh Lugger Buggs, that's a good one.
I just took the test and I got....wait for it....25, so I would have failed :bag:

I think everyone on here should take that test and we should have a league of drivers, see who gets the best score and is safe to drive :w00t:

I'l do it now then. I hope I don't fail, or I'll have to call work and tell them I'm a danger to other road users. Big Grin

Driving Theory Test
I took my botorbike theory test about 3 years ago and i got 34/35, and I have major issues with the one question I got "wrong", it was wording abmiguously, IMO  .

Anyways, instead of just learning by rote, why not get an experienced driver to explain the reasoning behind the rules you're having problems with, put it into a real context, that might work.

LOL Andrea, me too I got 29 on Car Test 1, I am going to try car test 2 now - but what is with Trams???

If I wasn't watching Corrie at the minute - I would have thought trams left our roads about 40 years ago???

Edit: Hoorah - I got 31 on Car Test 2 - it still was asking about Trams though!!!

I always cook with wine, and sometimes I actually put it in the food.
