Fathers Day

Do you guys get fathers day cards for your dads ... and do your kids buy their dad one ?

The only reason im asking is because i bought my dad a card and small gift yesterday. My boss took the mickey out of me saying it was commercialised etc ..... which i agree with, but i cant NOT get him something. He is my dad and i love him.

Anyway - i got him two big slabs of Cadbury's choccie which he adores and mum wont let him have, and a card.

I have got Mr.B from the animals (dont laugh) a large box of maltesers (his fave) and a card. The cards actually say on the front 'To my dad, from the dog' and 'from the cat'. Brilliant huh .... but they didnt have one 'from the tortoise'

I'm not perfect, but im so close it scares me

Yes, I always get a card for my Dad and a card and pressie for Mr P from the kids. I have suggested that we all go out for lunch instead of getting him a pressie, but he didn't seem to go for that (seeing as he'd end up paying for lunch anyway).

This year he would like an extra large/stretchy ironing board cover. :nerd:

My Dad is great and has been brilliant to all of us, always so I am getting him a card and a gift.
I don't care if people say its all about commercialism blah blah...it's kind of nice that he has a day when we all spoil him.
I get him prezzies and things throughout the year too....but there ain't no harm in having a day put aside to celebrate him.

i bought my step pa the Band of Brothers boxed DVD set but I gave him that weeks ago cos he was here when it was delivered.....so last week I also got him a pair of "im the only gay in the village" slippers cos Daffyd is his FAVE character in Little Britain :yahoo:

It is all about commercialism, but isnt every "occassion" nowadays...... I buy pressies without it being a special day, but I wanted to buy him something nice this year after all that him and Mum have done for me over the last few months!

The kids do buy a card for their Dad, And we bought him the new King Kong Dvd because he had been dropping hints.

I don't buy a card for my father in law because i don't like him, i leave that to Hubby.

My dad has long passed away and my daughter is old enough to buy Mr Breeze a card and present. Father-in-law usually gets a card and some sweets because he doesn`t go out and doesn`t have any hobbies and if fact doesn`t do anything so it`s always difficult to know what to get him
