Favourite Christmas Tune...

OK..hope I don't get lynched for this as it's not even December 1st yet, but I am just wondering what everyone's favourite Christmas Tune is.
Mine has to be 'Fairytale of New York'.
I love it..as it captures all the emotions that a lot of people associate at that time of year, sadness in the midst of so much happiness. It's a great tune.
I also love 'Winter Wonderland'....in my humble o. it is the perfect Christmas song.
And I like a good rendetion of 'O HOLY NIGHT'...
and 'Jingle Bell Rock'...

Off you go...........

'Come away, oh human child, to the waters and the wild. With a fairy hand in hand...for the world is more full of weeping than you will understand.........'

The two I never get tired of hearing and which are two of the cheesiest are Wizard's "I Wish it Could be Christmas Every Day" and Slade's "Merry Christmas Everyone". They both always getting me humming and tapping my toes. I also love Greg Lake's "I Believe in Father Christmas".

I always get a tear or two when I hear children sing either Away in a Manager or Little Donkey ... if it's a meddley of the two then I would be sobbing snot and tears for Britain!

... i only came online to visit Delia's site for tips on how to season a frying pan ...

My favourite two have already been mentioned - Fairytale of New York and I believe in Father Christmas.

A special mention to the whole of Phil Spector's Christmas album!!

What's so funny about peace, love and understanding?

Has to be "Fairytale of New York" for me too.
I love it when I'm out in the pub in the run up to Christmas and that comes on. can't beat it. the whole place just goes mad.

I also like "Oh Holy Night" when it gets sung by the choir at mass on Christmas Eve - it just makes me feel very Christmassy indeed.

I'm also going for "Fairytale of New York" - it's such a classic, and became even more poignant on Kirsty MacColl's tragic death.
I also like Chris Rea's "Driving Home for Christmas", and "2000 Miles" by The Pretenders.

Old enough to know better... :whistling
