Hi

I was just wondering how often you upgrade the forums to the latest version? I own a vBulletin board too and I've been reading the posts at the Help Forum about the lastest versions and it's certainly going to a good upgrade with quite a few new features [Image: icon14.gif]

As to your technical question I will let our technical staff answer....!

Hi Joy,
Trust you are keeping well.
Yes, I've been keeping an eye on developments at vbulletin as well. I think the latest version is 3.08 - we are on 3.06 here. There seems to have been a few upgrade recently, but I haven't bothered. Since owning the vbulletin license I think I've upgraded twice. These forums are hacked about a bit and have some modifications, so upgrading isn't easy.

If I remember correctly the next big version release will be 3.5 gold.

Hi Haydon

I'm fine thanks Smile

Yes, the lastest version is 3.0.8 and there is also RC2. If you decide to upgrade from 3.0.6 you will need to upgrade to 3.0.8 before you upgrade to RC2. However, if you wait for 3.5 Gold you can upgrade straight from 3.0.6 - does that make sense?

vB have added a new plugin system too.

Think I'll wait till 3.5 Gold as some of the hacks I'd like to install will then become available. Some of the programmers have got fed up with all the small changes and are waiting till the next big release. (sounds painful... or smelly!)

Yes, the plug in system will be fantastic and make modding sooo much easier and less stressful.

Hi Haydon

I have quite a few hacks installed and I've recently puchased a Gallery script which I'm very pleased with. I also like the new AJAX feature - have you seen the live demo for that?

LOL! It would be great if it did [Image: icon10.gif]

AJAX Integration: AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript and XML) allows your browser to send data to and receive data from a server without reloading the current page. This technology, whose use is being pioneered by Google, allows developers to create rich, fast-responding interactive pages.

I'll send you more details via PM Smile
