Help needed regarding Wordpad and Microsoft Word

I have a report due in on Monday which I haven't started yet...
We need to type it and we need to have spacing between the lines like so:

Quote:gvggkvg jkguivgyubgo yguogyuoy ohigioug jihihjbij

ignilhnmui uihnu inhyugd niogtnuygd inguy iughn

iugnhugnu nyugnuyg unygtyfft kmuhmi uyfrvfydtr

rather than just:

Quote:gfyugneyu gnyug ghihyum pioj qwwdf ewkljhe ojihf
hgnug duwgdweifj wiugfn wohe uiohgfej ohfijubne juhguhe
iugyfnyugf wehigfyun eyugnk iwmjiofrm, fuhyenmiu 9hmm

Now, I know this is easy to do on Microsoft Word as you can just fiddle with the settings and it does it automatic for you. Unfortunately, I don't have Microsoft Word on my comp any more and only use Wordpad (don't laugh...)
I've searched for a way to do it on Wordpad without having to manually press "return" twice every time I need to go onto a new line but can't see how to do it!
So, it is possible on Wordpad?

And if not, is it possible to type it normally on Worpad, save it to floopy disc and open it in Microsoft Word on another computer and then do something to the settings to make it automatically put spaces between the lines?

I don't see why you can't cut and paste into Word and then use the Format tab to set it out how you want.

Alternatively, you could chat up one of the secretaries at uni and ask them. With enough charm and chocolate, they might even accept your 'Floopy' disc and do it for you! :w00t:

PJ, if ownership of MS Word is a problem (and even if it's not) why not download >OpenOffice<. It's free, very good, and MS Office-compatible. (Big download though.)

OK PJ

Highlight your text
Select
Format – Paragraph – Indents and Spacing – Spacing
Then the desired spacing from the line spacing drop down box

Spacing should work when your cut and paste to-from word-wordpad

Hope that helps

OpenOffice is like Microsoft Office. It includes graphs, spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, etc. But it's created by the open source community and is hence (a) free and (b) continually bug-checked and updated. The only two drawbacks I'm aware of are (1) the size of the download and (2) the fact that there are some differences that you'll need to learn. But on the whole it is a fantastic package, and astonishing value for money. Wink

Screenshots probably help to explain:

>Screenshot of even more MS Office-like OpenOffice 2 (forthcoming)<
