I feel a bit gutted - how would you feel?

My computer is a lash up that my son built for me ages ago and has upgraded here and there but isn't exactly top of the range. However, it does all that I ask of it.

Mr C likes browsing through ebay and has a couple of flight simulator games that he likes the play about with so he bought a cheap second hand computer for himself which he has up in the loft conversion, where he keeps all his model aeroplanes and uses as a workshop.

For reasons best known to themselves Southern Railways, where he works, have decided to encourage all staff to get computers so they have instigated a scheme where they can "lease" a computer and the money is taken out of their wages before tax.

He phoned me up this morning and says that he has signed up for a sooper dooper top of the range all singing all dancing one that will cost him £5 per week and at the end of the leasing period he can purchase for £25!

The first thing I said was "Can I have it then and you can have mine?" He just laughed and said "I knew you'd say that". (It wasn't an outright no though :naughty: )

I'm struggling with my emotions here. Why do I feel so jealous when I have no complaints about mine? It does seem such a shame, though, that this fantastic computer is going to be consigned to the grubby, dusty old loft to be used only a couple of times a week at the most by someone who can't even send an email! But then he is paying for it.

Do you think he should give it to me and have mine? :naughty:

Hmmmm, its tricky as its work related - but if he wont use it then it is a bit of a waste.

Maybe you could suggest paying 1/2 each - and then you can use it most of the time, but if he needs to do something that the old comp cant cope with he can borrow it ?

I'm not perfect, but im so close it scares me

If you're happy with the one you've got Crit, then I'd just let him get on with it. Maybe when he's had it a while and isn't really using it he'll give it to you, and think it was his idea.

Is this why rail fares are so expensive?

Only joking Crit grab it as soon as it comes through the door get it installed in your corner and tell him he can use it whenever he wants and never leave your seat long enough for him to get on it (that bit won't be difficult).

He will soon get fed up and make do with your old one and the sooper dooper one would be wasted on him and would get lost under the planes in that loft.
