Has anyone else 'discovered' any bands that they wouldn't normally listen to but when they have find that they actually like them?

If someone had said to me 18 months ago that I would enjoy listening to bands such as The Killers, Counting Crows, Bright Eyes, Evermore, Powderfinger, Missy Higgins and Silverchair and I would have laughed at them :shocking:

But, thanks to a good friend of mine who sent me songs by all of the above I've actually come to realise that there is more out there than 'manufactured' pop music and the album Hot Fuss by The Killers is one that I play all the time now

Don't get me wrong I still love listening to Robbie, Keane, Travis, George Michael etc but my tastes have definitely broadened considerably over the last 18 months or so.

I like The Killers too.

And Razorlight, Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand and Gorillaz. I'm never sure though if at some point they stop being Indie and become more classic, like Pulp and Blur.

I think The Divine Comedy is my favourite though.

Intruiging. You admit to listening to good music as if it is illegal. And you validate that you listen to ****e as if you will be shot for not doing so.
Bizarre.

Sorry -dont mean to be rude. Just music tastes intruige me indeed.

But your point is refreshing. Keep on Maid Marion. keep on. (Patsy - Not the time to mention the meatloaf incident - ok)

I find music tastes interesting too, janus.

But spelling errors are much more intriguing:wink2:

The Divine Comedy, The Mighty Sparrow, Mike Nesmith, Brad Roberts, Barbra Streisand and Blur.

Gorillaz, Pulp and Neil Young.

Joni Mitchell, Les Stones qui Roll and Carly Simon.

The Monkees, Razorlight, Kaiser Chiefs and Jon bon Jovi

Doctor John, Joe Jackson and The Boomtown Rats.

Nick Cave, John Cale and old Broadway musicals.

The soundtrack to The Life Aquatic and the theme to White Horses.

I hate opera.

I never knew you people had such good taste in music. Keep it up!

But Maid Marion, you really must try to weane yourself off Robbie and George Michael. It's for your own good.

Huh Did we have one of those? I remember a recurring Terry Jacks incident. Over and over and over again.

I don't care what pigeon-hole something slots into. If I like it, I like it. I am currently liking Jack Johnson and Corinne Bailey-Rae, but that's probably because it's nearly Summer.
