Life in the Undergrowth

Has anyone been watching this brilliant new David Attenborough programme?

Its on Wednesdays at 9pm and is superb. I was amazed at the camerawork.

The small aphids (who seemed to have little faces) that groomed themselves with specially produced liquid who were no bigger than a pin head, the close ups of the ants, the thing that looked like a furry centipede (sorry for being vague) that squirted glue from its mouthparts to immobilise its victims, 6ft long earthworms squelching through the Australian undergrowth making squelching noises, the 12 inch long centipede that caught and ate bats (I was looking through my fingers at that point).... wow wow wow....

Absolutely wonderful programme, it deserves a BAFTA for the camerawork alone.

David Attenborough is, as usual, sensitive and interesting - and unbelieveably 80 years old next year and doesnt look (or sound) a day over 60

Ahh, I meant to watch this Pan. I am not a fan of creepy crawlies but I caught a snippet of this on Richard & Judy and it looked fantastic. I love David Attenborough enthusiasm and the camera work in his programmes are spectacular. I'll tune in next week!

It was superb - although I only watched bits of it [something was on the other side].

The end 10 minutes were the best for me though, and this is to be a regular feature, the last 10 mins of the hour long show, tell us how they managed to acheive the brilliant shots of the various bugs and critters!! I like seeing how things are made!

I always cook with wine, and sometimes I actually put it in the food.

Have not had an opportunity to see this programme yet, though it sounds right up my street.

Looking forward to this other new series on its way later this week - "Walking with Monsters", which is apparently set in the pre-dinosaur.

Should be interesting stuff. Even better if Bill Oddie's presenting.Smile
