Meeting Friends

When you go out with friends you don't get to see much what do you like to do?

For me I like to go where I can sit, eat and chat the whole night, especially if I don't get to see them that much. I hate going out to movies or places where it's really loud if I can't talk with them. If I'm meeting a friend, it's to catch up not do something that distracts.

What about you? What do you like to do to socialise with friends?

Usually in a pub that's not too noisy - or at my place!

I hate it when you're in a bar speaking to someone and the music gets turned up:mad2:

What's so funny about peace, love and understanding?

I'm like you Tiggs, if it is someone/people I don't see often, I like to go to a place (preferabley a quietish pub/wine bar) where you can sit, eat and chat for the whole evening catching up, with out loud music!

Definitely out for a meal where you chat, eat delicious food and have a couple bottles of wine. Must be our age but when we were younger we would have our meal, go to a bar for a few more drinks, maybe onto a nightclub but now we will probably have a coffee and a liquer and then order a taxi home!

I love all the coffee bars that have opened up now, so even if you can't meet up at night, during the day is an option too!

Depends...if it's a friend that I enjoy talking to I will go to eat or something where we can catch up and then maybe go out to a bar or something...

But if there is a reason (i.e. they are obnoxious) I only plan to meet up with them every once in a while...I prefer to go to a movie or something...where I have an excuse not to have to talk to them...lol.

I know I am boring but I like to go to someone's house (or mine of course!) and have a dinner party where we can all chat properly!

I like going to people's houses as well, or them coming to mine.

Just like the weekend BBQ I went to at a friends, we all had a great time,c ould talk to each other (although we didn't get to the stage of talking about round tables:wink2: ) and the kids can run about and have fun with the other kids.

If it's one of my friends and not a family friend (not that I don't let my friends meet my hubby:w00t: ) I like to go out for a nice meal and onto a pub that doesn't have load music, and that we can chat about all different stuff.
However.........I do like to go out every now and then for a boogie and my friend and I have been known to frequent "The Pit" in town.

I know I sound like an old fogey but I really hate going out....I will venture to a restaurant occasionally but I would much rather stay in.

Do I qualify for a free cardie and one of those "one slipper" zip up boot type things with fur inside that old people wear?

Me too, I like to go to a nightclub every so often with my mate to have a boogie, but to be honest on the whole I much prefer to sit in a bar and have a good old natter!

With really good friends my favourite thing is have have them round to mine (or me go to theirs). I just find that its more relaxed - there's never a struggle to find a table, the service is brilliant and we decide what music to play and how loud to play it. Plus, the place shuts when we want and the drink is available for as long as we want!

If that can't be arranged then a meal out is a good alternative.

If at first you don't succeed, failure may be your style.
