Message in a bottle!

I found a real message in a bottle today! :w00t:

I was walking along the beach and saw a plastic bottle. Dunno why, but I looked at it a bit more closely and saw a little piece of paper inside. I took the lid off and pulled it out. It says:

STUUR MIJ EEN AANZICHTAART VAN UW GEMEENTE
NAAR: DE VRIENDT FRANKY
ELISABETLAAN 292
8301 KNOKKE-HEIST 2
BELGIE

ZEND OOK DIT BRIEFJE TERUG
DANK BIJ VOORBAAT
DATUM: 24/04/05
WIND: E
KRACHT 3
---------
All neatly typed out. Unfortunately, I can't translate it! I can pick a word or two out and there is obviously an address that I need to write to in order to claim my £1m. Is it Flemish? Can't find any online Flemish > English translators tools, only people offering the service in exchange for hard cash.

Anyone know what it says?

Haydon

She is sending you greetings from afar, Haydon. I can also make out that she farts alot (Wind group E, she's up there with Norm after a vinaloo) and she has three cracks. (she may be an alien, approach with caution).

there you go and I'll only charge a fiver for that translation! :w00t:

I don't have a clue what it says....but how exciting.

Whenever I went on school trips a ferry I'd always fling a plastic pop bottle with my name and address in it overboard. Once, about a year later, I got a letter from a Dutch girl who'd found my bottle! We were pen-pals for a while.

I see no promise of £1m sadly, but the gist of it seems to be this:

Quote:Write to me with your address, at:

DE VRIENDT FRANKY
ELISABETLAAN 292
8301 KNOKKE-HEIST 2
BELGIE

Please also send back this note. Thanks in advance.

Presumably the date was the date the bottle was sent, together with a note of the wind direction (east) and strength (3). Amazing that you found it a day after it was "posted"!

It is very exciting! Never found a message in a bottle before!

Blink - Your translation seems to make sense. As you say, it's amazing I found it the day after posting! Eat your heart out Royal Mail! Smile

This is where Franky is from: http://www.knokke-heist.be Looks rather nice.

I wonder if Franky is male or female. I'm hoping female with long blonde hair and bit t^ts!

ooh Haydon, with Blink's information which is (i might add) only marginally closer to the true translation than mine, it seems like she is naughty-cle :naughty: , might be worth the train fare? no?

OOOOOOOOO Haydon a message in a bottle!! I am excited for you, even though it was only posted yesterday.

It sort of conjours up romantic messages of shipwrecks and or lost souls needing some sort of answer? What a pity it seems not to be that sort of message.

It makes me wonder has any onle else found a 'message in a bottle' or indeed sent one??

I always cook with wine, and sometimes I actually put it in the food.

You should write to her and get her to join the site, she might even come to the next meet.
Will you be coming to the next meet haydon? :whistling
