Hello Suvivorfan,

Northern Rock just turned the corner today with a rise in its share value.

A good time for anyone buying I have been reliably told.

Reliably told by whom?

They have a business model that doesn't work any longer and no buyers forthcoming.

How much do you suppose the shares are worth?

Hello Groucho,

I was informed of Northern Rock reliability this morning from a firm of Stock Brokers in London.

So whilst the former business model is useless a new one will be forthcoming when the firm is bought out.

According to the BBC news the Northern Rock is now the most secure bank on the high street.

I'm still not sure who to believe, but there you have it.

Yes the goverment has said peoples savings in Northern Rock are100% safe and you are more at risk if you take your money out. 2 buyers are in the running to take it over.

I think you need a new broker.

Rumour is that Lloyds TSB is bidding £2 a share for Northern Rock.

Stock is now back down 24p at 282p, so you've done your spuds if you bought them yesterday.

If you're going to misquote, may as make it a biggie!

There is a massive difference between the government guaranteeing bank deposits and underwriting the business.

The government does not give 2 hoots for shareholders.

As a business, they are donald ducked and certainly and enormous risk for new investors and new depositors.

Thanks for the advice Mo-Mo but I think I'll pass on that one if you don't mind.

BBC seems to have changed its mind since you posted, today it's calling the company 'stricken'.

Northern Rock shares closed at 132p today.

It's not looking very pretty for shareholders at all.

Would you mind telling us which one, so we can avoid them?
