Pete - growing weary of him

Pete - growing weary of him

Pete is starting to grate on my nerves big time. He has had plenty of conversations with housemates where he has been perfectly calm with hardly a trace of the tics, yet the minute he goes to the diary room especially on nomination day (last week's the best example) the affectations become ridiculous and boringly lengthy. I lost patience with him last week before he could give a name to nominate. A lot is said about Nikki hamming it up in the diary room, but I think Pete could give her a major run for her money. The biggest fault I find with him at present is the total absence of anything resembling a spine. If he had a vertebra to call his own, he would have told that geriatic porn whore to get away from him. But no.... he sits there being manipulated and twisted by Lea, who is now gunning to turn him against Nikki... her last threat to total power over Pete.

Life's battles don't always go to the stronger or faster man, sooner or later the man who wins, is the man who THINKS he can.

I agree and when it`s eviction night and they are all sitting round he plays up to the cameras quite a bit.

I like Pete but i had thought for a while that some of those nervous ticks of his the hitting his wind-pipe business and wan-ker shouts especailly in the diary room were done for entertainment value on his part.:sun:

I have to disagree, I'm afraid. If you watch him when he's in the house, in a slightly awkward situation he becomes nervous and that's when the ticks start. Not as much as in the diary room, but he obviously feels more under the spotlight there and therefore more nervous. Lets face it, most people behave differently in the diary room and on eviction night. Which is odd really, considering the cameras are on them 24 hours a day. It's obviously very easy to forget they're there.

I think Pete finds it difficult to express himself and covers it up with humour and acting the idiot. He's basically a very shy person, who now feels comfortable with his housemates, therefore showing minimal ticks in normal situations.

I think his tics are genuine but I'm bored of him now.
He hasn't done anything to merit winning this and I sincerely hope he doesn't.

I agree. It makes me cringe when Lea is all over him, he obviously feels uncomfortable with it but does'nt know how to handle her or the situation. I wish he could find the strength to tell her to go take her gigantic udders and go swing them in another direction.

I concur, BB. He's very bright and articulate alot of the time so why does he have to crouch on the side of the bath scrubbing his tongue like he's a sandwich short of a picnic?

I hate this - so obviously for the cameras.
