Routines

Do you have any particular routines, that if disturbed would annoy you greatly ?

I didnt think i was a creature of routine. I eat when im hungry, i go to bed when im sleepy etc ....

BUT this morning, and yesterday morning Mr.B has been off work, and he tends to get up around 6am, and i get up at 7am. I always sleepwalk downstairs, make some tea, and then bung GMTV on the telly. I dont particularly like GMTV, but i want to catch the news, and see the weather, and occasionally they will have a good guest on.

But the last couple of mornings i have woken up to find that Mr.B has a film on that he has found on Sky. Todays was Dragnet with Tom Hanks. And it really irritated me. I wanted to know what was happening in the world, and i couldnt see the news (but i also couldnt move my sleepy a*se off the chair). My routine went totally to pot as i didnt realise that i tend to look at the time on GMTV during the morning to tell me when to get changed as we dont have a clock in the lounge.

So im kinda looking forward to him going back to work tomorrow :wink2:

So - do you have any 'habits' ?

My mum is a real creature of habit. She only drinks coffee in the morning and tea in the afternoon. She has coffee and biscuits at 10am, she has lunch at 12:30, she always has dinner at 6pm. She goes to bed at 10:30pm. I couldnt live like that

I'm not perfect, but im so close it scares me

When I'm working days I have to get up and keep moving...

Up at 0645 - Wee - shower - prepare breakfast - change boys water and feed them - iron shirt - take breakfast and shirt to bedroom eat as I get changed for work whilst listening to radio 2 - clean teeth - 0715 leave for work - much of my morning routine is overlapped e.g. as the iron is heating up I'm sorting the boys.

If my routine gets interrupted by my dad or the lodger being in the bathroom or wanting to chat I can come across as very abrupt (I don't socialise well before 9am...it used to be 10am but I'm getting better) and I find myself running in circles as I try and think what was supposed to come next... Blush

When I'm not working I couldn't give a hoot and take everything in my stride!

I think I've made having no routine into a routine in itself (if that makes sense).

I've never been a "washing on Monday, ironing on Tuesday" type of person but I suppose I was more organised when I was working.

I just do things as and when the mood takes me. I do get on better when Mr C is at work though. He's got 4 days off starting today. I suppose I will have to look busy some of the time so he doesn't think I have the life of Riley Wink

Yes, I am a creature of habit and follow the same routine every morning.

I did think about typing my routine out for you so you can all marvel at the mundanity of my life, but halfway through, even I started to get bored with it.

If at first you don't succeed, failure may be your style.

I struggle daily with the dilemma of routines or not routines.

I would far rather have a routine, for the reasons that things get done when they are alloted to get done, nothing gets forgotton, it is a positive exersise in time and motion savings.

However, the mundanity of a routine, makes me want to pluck my eyelashes out s.l.o.w.l.y. I like to live for the minute, and whatever that minute brings live it to the max. But things get forgotten, the ironing never gets done, I forget important dates, meetings etc. And life eventually becomes too hectic and stressful to cope with without a routine.

So it is back to a routine, for a while and then back to impulsivity and back to routine and blah blah blah!!

So I suppose my routine consists of having a routine for a month and then not having one and then having one and then not having one.

I always cook with wine, and sometimes I actually put it in the food.

I got narky this morning when my fave 'get me out of bed laughing DJ' wasn't on when my radio alarm went off....

He was doing a telly show apparantly. Nobody told ME about it. Cheek. Replaced him with a GIRLIE DJ. I fekkin HATE girlie DJ's. AND she'll be on again tomorrow. I'm not happy. Discomoded I am. Even 5 hours later.

hurrumph.
