Sayings that make you M A D

If I hear one more TV media clown call The Notting Hill Carnival just "Carnival" I shall scream. As in "it will be packed at Carnival today". It ranks up there with radio interviewees saying absolutely or basically when they are:

1. trying to sound in control when trying to think what to say
2. bullsh**ing

Others are "pacifically" anything that substitutes "fr" for "th" - step un all of OneXtra and Spooney on Radio 1 as well as the cast of Eastenders and (and breath) anyone who says "Mum" or Dad" in a conversation when they mean "my Mum" or "my Dad" :wallbash:

any others I have missed?

yes...'at the end of the day'...

really can't stand that expression.

'Come away, oh human child, to the waters and the wild. With a fairy hand in hand...for the world is more full of weeping than you will understand.........'

I hate it when people say:

'You'll never guess what....'

Ok then I wont even bother trying to guess what!

"Can you borrow me your pen", instead of either:

"Can I borrow your pen" or
"Can you lend me your pen".

If at first you don't succeed, failure may be your style.

Innit is a local coloqualism (can't spell that) where I live (as in isn't it) and it really ticks me off when chavs from around the country use constantly in the wrong context! :ranting:

I also hate it when I'm having a chat with a friend/work colleague and and univited person chips in with the 'black cat' 'My mate...' or 'I had a mate...' - I just want to say 'GO AWAY YOU SAD LITTLE PERSON YOU DO NOT AND NEVER HAVE HAD ANY MATES COS YOU AREA SO SAD!'...but I don't.. Blush

I HATE it when people say "of" instead of "have" Eg:

"I should of gone to the shops yesterday" - WRONG
"I should have gone to the shops yesterday"- CORRECT

Drives me nuts!

EDIT: Coastie you little smarta*se!
