The fat lady has sung for Pavarotti

Pavarotti has passed away. Sad

Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti has died at his home in the northern city of Modena, his manager has announced.
The singer, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year, was 71.

So what's the score with the two tenors? :wink2:

Pancreatic cancer is unfortunately one of the most untreatable and aggressive forms of cancer around.

He really did have an amazing voice - and such sparkly eyes and such a spark about him.

According to the Beeb news, he's lying in state 'dressed in a tuxedo and scarf'.

You'd have thunk they'd have left his keks on.

Pavarotti will be a great loss to the world of music and in particular the world of classical music.

Pavarotti meant a lot of things to different people.

The likes of this man's gift will not be recognised again for another 50 years as so few have it.

RIP.

was reading one of those 60second interview things with Charlie Church....I got the impression she wasn't perticularly enamoured. He was to her account quite a way up himself.

Hello Slipper,

A pity the finer details were not quoted in anywhere except the music press as to the contrary Miss Church must have been so far up herself not to understand why someone would not want to sing with her, when she can't count herself in to a peice of music, who had only enough knowledge to vaguely know her line, and as she was being put forward as a professional singer very little in rehearsal time would have been needed prior to performance. Simply isn't good enough.
