Total shut down?!?!

Hi, can anyone help me.
My computer just totally shut down:ohmy:
It wasn't just a freeze up of the screen, unable to move the curser etc. It all totally shut down and the screen went black as though it had switched off.
I really don't know what happened. I wondered if it was a power surge, I've got a power surge protector extension plug, so could that have stopped the electricity getting through.
I've just switched back on and its re-booted fine.
So is my computer ok or should I get it checked out by anyone

Does anyone know?

There is a virus (I think it's called netsky) that causes your PC to repeatedly shut down.

Is your anti-viral software up to date?
