What do you do with your Christmas Cards?

I was just wondering what do you do with your Christmas cards when you take them down. Do you recycle them, do you hoard them or do you just put them in the bin?

I've voted "Save special ones".

I've never done this before, but then this is the first time I have received a card from someone who died just before Christmas.

Our next door neighbour died suddenly about 2 weeks before christmas, but she wrote out her cards before death and her relative sent them on to the recipients. It meant that I got a Christmas card from Muriel about a week a after she died, which was a bit of a shock.

Anyway, I've binned all the cards except from the one from Muriel. It is somehow special, and I intend to put it up on the shelf next year in memory of her.

I didn't know her all that well, but now that she has gone, I think about her every day and I miss her.

If at first you don't succeed, failure may be your style.

I recycle them. In fact this year I recycled them practically as soon as I received them! Blush

They get on my nerves big style, but every year I still send them and receive them!

... i only came online to visit Delia's site for tips on how to season a frying pan ...

I always write a little message in my cards so if someone does that back I may tend to keep it for a year or two... or if I know I'm not going to get another card from that person (leaving school/college) I've kept some... but I never get that many anyway...

I just binned the whole lot - bluddy things make the palce looky untidy, I hate them.

I keep the special ones, I've learnt to throw things away but I used to hoard everything! I've become much more minimalist these days, much easier especially when it comes to dusting!

I voted other, I give them to my son's nursery class at school, they use them to do all sorts of things.
Before that I used to recycle them.

I cut them up for gift tags [sometimes I use this years for this purpose too], and the rest get recycled.

I also use the backs to make little books for shopping lists, or notes to hubby or children etc. I am always searching for little scrap bits of paper - but the cards make excellent scrap as they are a bit more substantial.
