What was it between Fran and Paul yesterday?

What was that friction about between Paul and Fran yesterday? I know Fran climbed up the web, did Paul feel he had missed a photo opportunity? I disliked Paul at first, then I liked him better but I am beginning to dislike him again.

I was thinking this too, and wondered if I missed something.

I'm pretty convinced they are both tired as hell and the slightest misunderstanding ends up as a bark fest, and that this was just a misunderstanding.

Paul wanted to do it, so did Fran. Fran was a kit keener, Paul more willing to let the other do it, and that should really have been the end of it. Then Paul said something like "you are ruining my chances here", which Fran took to mean that he was trying to hog the limelight and steal camera time (when all he wanted to do was get the darn chest down and get out of there).

But Fran was already wired by JSP when he left, and was sensitive to anything that was going to be said. Again, Fran didnt want to take the pole, so why couldnt JSP have just said "might be easier with the pole, but your call", and then just forgotten about it. Why she have to go on and make an issue of it? Does it matter to her whether Fran brings it back with a pole of in his teeth?

It was just an off the cuff remark from Paul, that meant nothing, but he should have realised that Fran was taking it personally and reassured him it was just a tired, meant-nothing comment and apologised for any perceived insult. Then Fran should have just said "ok man, no problem".

Just a classic communication breakdown where you say one thing, and it gets taken another way. Does Paul really think his chances were impacted by him not climbing over the web? Only if hes really dumb......but then again........hmmmmmm, but thats another thread right?

You got that right SM, Fran went up for that chest in a foul mood after JSP had a go at him, and Pauls comments may have not been meant that way, but Fran was in scrappy mood and out for blood!

I think Paul was probably shocked at the altercation, he didn't see that coming.

Yeah but Paul did say "let's keep this outside the camp - it's all forgotten" but Fran went straight in and whinged to Janet. She asked Paul what it was about and he said "Nothing, forget it" but Janet pushed him and said "Well I have heard Fran's version (which surprised Paul and caught him off guard) so I may as well hear yours", thus starting it up again. Fran caused the trouble really. But then I am biased because I don't like him one bit.
