Jakey I joined SO initially after joining the 'official' Survivor forum - that was frankly, pants. And correct me if I am wrong - SO was started up soon afterwards as the 'unofficial' website - most drifted over and an awful lot remained.

And in the early days the talk was more or less 'Survivor' related. It soon grew into the garden fence scenario - which was rather nice and nice it has remained.

I always cook with wine, and sometimes I actually put it in the food.

Why did you join?
I joined because of the TV programme "Survivor". I think that there was an Aussie version of it Jakeyboy?

The first UK Survivor series started about 4 years ago. I loved it and watched regliously every week, and every day after the programme, I wanted to talk about it, discuss it etc. I have never been as enthusiatic about a TV programme before or since! But.....the programme wasn't successful in the UK and no-one else I knew was watching it, so I joined the official Survivor forum to chat to other people about the series. That forum was rubbish, but someone on there told me about this forum, I joined and never really left.

Survivor is old history now, but a number of have just stuck around afterwards chatting about other stuff.

If at first you don't succeed, failure may be your style.

Yeah there was an Aussie Version of it and we keep getting other ones from other Islands and sh*t. I actually have never sat down and watched it though.

I started this thread and I didn't even give my reason!

I joined because my teacher said that I like to chat about more 'advanced' (as if doing year 8 work in year 7 isn't advanced enough!) things and she told me about this forum! So I joined and I quite like the topics posted.

I'm not sure but I remember her saying that her daughter used to do discussions at school and came here. That's how I think she found out about it. Either that or she researched Discussion Forums for me.

Having said that though she is kinda  sometimes. Like I never really liked her until term 3.
