christmas in the shops already...

I went into a local shop today and they already have their christmas stock out. Remind me, what is christmas about?

Our local Tesco's have had their Christmas puds/cakes/selection boxes etc out for a couple weeks Tonee and it is not even October yet!

Actually I DID sign a petition to Number 10 last year about there being a time limit for selling Christmas to the masses :thumbsup:

Christmas is a Christian festival held in December because it happened to coincide with a convenient Pagan feast day.

These days it is an excuse for as many retailers to sell as much merchandise as possible.

And yes - it does seem to start earlier every year.

Apparently some teenage girl called Mary miraculously got up the duff and her poor boyfriend, Joe, hadn't even sh@gged her. Of course, they had to leave home coz no-one believed her (least of all Joe, but he was a lowly carpenter and not blessed with brains). Three blokes with silly hats and smelly stuff found them in a barn and reckoned her baby was the Son of God. Mary was happy to go along with this theory and from that day onwards wore a shiney headband.
