the Strange, Unique, and/or Unexpected...

Hubby took our bucket of change we had overflowing to the Coinstar Machine to change in for $$$$. (Do y'all have these??) Anyhoo, it 'kicks' stuff back that is gunky, or Canadian, or whatever...you'll have a few returned bits nearly everytime. Well, all of my life I've wanted to go to New Zealand b/c I think it's awesome and it doesn't have the poisionous stuff like Austrailia. It's been an absolute facination, as I figure I'll get over to y'all's neck of the woods b/4 I'd EVER get to NZ. Back to my story...hubby comes home with a NZ half penny from...get this, MY BIRTH YEAR!!!! And someone had ALREADY put a hole in it to wear as a pendant or charm or something. So hubby fixed it up on a necklace, after polishing it a bit and there it proudly sits as I type. I've not taken it off since he gave it to me about 2 weeks back!! I found that just sooooo unique.

Share a story of something especially strange, unique, or unexpected that has happened to you...lately or in the past. xxoo msgirl

I guess I'm Cornish...

Why, cause hubby got away with a polished half-penny?? I'm going to check into getting it coated in gold and properly done up...later, when the money fairy comes round.:glare:

Feeling very low and sad at the moment due to the sudden death of my hubby's brother (Maz put it on another thread somewhere as it was her brother too of course). We're hanging around waiting til Saturday when we can go to Wales for the funeral on Tuesday.

Anyway, I just went and stood on our back steps balcony for a bit of fresh air and a beautiful big butterfly came and hovered around me and landed on my sleeve. It's quite dull and dismal here now so I was surprised to even see a butterfly, let alone have one land on my arm.

That was definitely strange, unique and totally unexpected.

My friend had a similar experience when her Dad died, Crit. She swears that butterfly was her Dad. Nice thought.

I just squirted myself in the head with the air freshener. I wasn't expecting that. Huh

I got unexpected injuries today...we've got this little girl who is the spawn of Satan and she was putting a stick in her mouth, her teacher called out to her to bring her the stick and she screamed "NO!" and "TO LEAVE HER ALONE!" I cannot STAND when she does this (whole 'nother story!!) and was already walking by her to assist another child, when I went to get her by the hand and 'escort' her to her teacher...she takes off running ('nother thing I can't STAND!!) and I take out after her, only to trip over one of the leg supports of the swings:ranting:...I landed on both hands and knees, in pea gravel and wet dirt. I start laughing at my predicament and so do my colleagues...I ended up with 2 badly cut up knees and my shoulders are a little whiplashed!Huh That little 'angel' is mine, oh yes...:pimp:

I guess I'm Cornish...
