We have an extra hour, oh the choices of what to do. I'm still sat in my dressing gown. I used my extra hour to catch up with the household accounts and now that my breakfast has settled I'm going to wash and dress and go swimming. It's a glorious day so a walk after will be good and then tonight I'm going to a Halloween party

Not really just moving everything around so the central heating can be installed next week - and then going to watch my youngest son play in a cup game this afternoon :D

Well, tonight I shall be donning my big bad Indian suit and hitting the streets of Glasgow for some Halloween fun! Big wean? Me?? ;)

getting my boys costums was good fun.

I never really was allowed to 'do' halloween, but this area...oh there goes the bell...(2 girls in full costume) really does it well and safetly. This is the second year the boys have gone out on their own.

A little effort can leave a lasting memory of a lovley childhood (hope so anyway).

Everything I planned today went swimmingly. I have tiddles off with a real humdinger of a cold - so I wasn't able to go far - but I planned to have the dogs out for a massive walk - I did that first thing, and I wish I could have had you all there it was spectacularly fabulous. It was about -1, sunny, crisp underfoot and clean clean clean and so so silent and peaceful - I did about 7 miles.

Tiddles and I baked some bread which is now in the oven and made a pop up book.

Plans for tonight - will also go swimmingly cos I am doing absolutely nothing - just tv and vegging.

Its wonderfull isn't it..I love taking Bazeeel out on a run early in the morning...within 10 minutes of leaving the house we are in fields all alone with no sound. The sky is such a amazing colour with the bare trees starkly outlined...usually the moon is still prominent. The fresh air on your face.....I love it, alone yet at one with the world.

I come back, falling thru the kitchen door exhilerated, covered in mud and glowing. My run is about 5 miles.

Yep!! Drooled all over this amazingly good looking fella who came and chatted to me in school today about his children. I couldn't get over how stunning he was.

It was only after he had left that one of my assistants came over to me all breathless and gasped "Do you know who that was!"

I didn't, but got told his name, meant nothing, but seems he's a Premier footie player, and pretty good!

He was hunky though!

Try a nice broccoli and cauli cheese mix, or sweetcorn and potatoe. Or carrot and swede mash...all mixed with milk - her formula or full fat (how old is she again?).

Lentils arn't the most tempting of tastes for starters.

Well, after reading one of Cat's posts about her doing cleaning/ironing/running, I think it inspired me and I have also cleaned the living room and done a pile of ironing:) I'm quite pleased with myself because I actually haven't done much cleaning following Xmas, kind of got out of the habit. But this week will be one to go through the whole house.

Floops - you are now going to be inundated with veg ideas, here are mine:

steamed courgette - that is it - just pured - it is very sweet and lovely.
my new soup concoction [which you could do a bit thicker for Gigi] is Pear and Parsnip, I just gently sweat an onion, and then add 1 grated parsnip and 1 grated pear, add a little veg stock and cook for about 10-15 mins - completely scrummy.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Gor Blimey that well hung beef I was on about the other day - was just the most gorgeous beef I have had in years - it was red in the middle, pink on the outers and crispy on the edges - and it just melted. Droooooooooool - in fact I am off to make a sarnie with it now. As if I haven't stuffed enough down today.

I took the Family Service this morning and got a laugh of incredulty when I told the congregation that they MUST stay for coffee and biscuits cos I got up at 6.30 to bake a massive batch - they did stay and they finished the lot!

Is anyone else like me?? I love a good re-shuffle of furniture?? Today I am swapping my family room furniture into the dining area of the kitchen and vice versa.

So now I have a sort of seperate dining area and a cosy end of the kitchen with 2 armchairs and a dresser and coffee table - so I can now cook and relax in comfort at the same time[ish!].

I know it doesn't sound very exciting - but it is amazing what turns up when you start re-shuffling.

well last night we had such a laugh.

We were all dressed up in our outfits, put the tape on and away we go.
The tape does an introduction, then each player has a script to read from, questions get asked and the tape goes on again and its all repeated.

Well we get to the end of the script, the tape goes on and before anyone had chance to guess who the murderer was the tape says....."and so therefore it was Bo Jalais who did it"

Bear in mind we had just spent 2 hours doing all this. Well I got the giggles, my friend Janey got the giggles and we couldn't stop, but looking round the room a few faces were a bit miserable cause the murderer had been revealed before they had a chance to guess, which then made us giggle even more:laugh:

I tell you, some people are seriously to serious in their lives.

This morning I am off to the hospital with my youngest son for a check up for his eczema. It is a bit of a waste of time as he never has a flare up when we have to go, so they never see it when it is really bad.

This evening, I am off out for a pub meal with a couple of friends before we go to see 'A Hen Night' at the theatre. It is supposed to be really funny and a little bit rude. I am quite looking forward to it!

Get on okay this morning, ILS?

Ok I suppose! We had to wait 45 minutes to see the doctor, who told us nothing we didn't already know! She has refered us to the eczema nurse for a 45 minute appointment at another hospital in another town to teach us how to manage the condition! And then gave us a prescription which we wait for 30 minutes to collect and they only had 1 of the 3 items in stock, so I have to go back at a later date to collect them.

To be honest, it is really a waste of time as we have been there done that got the t-shirt with this before and they come up with nothing new. It is something he has to live we and we really know how to manage it, but it is just every so often the doctor says 'I think he should be seen at the hospital again' so off we trot, time is wasted on both sides for really no return.

Hopefully in time he will grow out of it, like miss ils & I did.

ILS, ezcema is so horrible isn't it? One of Katie's wee friends has it really bad and her mum is hoping that she will grow out of it, but is desperate to try anything. Poor wee mite has to wear a fully body stocking to bed to stop her itching and she hardly ever complains. Hope things get better for your son! :)

Today, I am busy setting up my website!!! Thanks to Haydon & Spooky and everyone else for their recommendations but I came across a site that is dedicted to Work at Home Mothers and it is just ideal for my needs. It isn't expensive to run and is easy for me to deal with!!

I should be up & running by the end of the month, so hope you will all pop in and have a wee browse. I'll offer a 10% discount for the first month. :)

I helped Mr F hang a new dovecote on the new garage extension, I did have a bit of a loud panic attack - the scaffolding was v.v.v. wobbly and the dovecot weighed a ton - but it is now up and waiting for the estate agent to come round and flog the apartments to some of the doves!!

Tonight another Church meeting, where I am going to be a little daredevil and ... wait for it ... suggest a night out!! Good lord what is the world coming too!!??

The interview was really difficult. I also found it scarier than a usual interview because I knew two of the panel. I did my best to sell myself at the interview. But as I was speaking, I was worried that one of the panel that I work closely with would be thinking, "she is talking rubbish, she never does that, infact I think she should be sacked!" I came out of the interview more nervous than when I went in!

Thankfully, it looks like I have got the job. HR have to do some checks and work out a few details before than can formally offer me the role, but these should just be a formality. My colleague (the one I thought would think I was lying!) has already started talking to me about my future workload, and about getting me a lovely office mobile phone. Hurrah! :w00t:

As I don't drink you will have to have a glass of two of this for me:

Well done you Rothera!!! Hoorah - sorry to hear though that the interview was nerve wracking. I normally love interviews - but I hate it when your pits leak - when normally they would never ever hint at moistness!!

And cheers me dears - I know I was late to the party - but hopefully those guzzlers have saved me a glass to toast your new job??

Ok - forget that last bit - they have, only half the bottle!!!

tonight is my ladies circle night. It's our AGM, so out for a meal and a few bevvies.

Tonight is also the time of year when all the different posts get handed on to whoever is taking them over for the next year (somehow I managed to get away without doing anything:w00t: ) but the new chairman takes her spot today and the men come in just after the meal and do what we call an "interruption".
This usually invovles the men making fools of themselves and of the new chairman with sarcastic and risque behaviour, so that should be a laugh.

A few weeks back Mrs SF spotted an ad for teaching in the Caribbean for two years. Out of interest we thought it might be worth her applying - she did and had an interview. We thought it unlikely she'd be offered the post as the interviewer hadn't realised she was married with children. But today her boss mentioned he'd been asked for a reference. Candidates will hear today if they have been offered a post - so now we're on tenterhooks.

Wey hey!!! I have got everything crossed for you SF - I can picture now, lying in your hammock by the pool, a large cocktail in hand, laptop at your side, while you regale us with the weather report and sea temperatures :glare:  Im not jealous really

Today I have the interview at the Accountants in town - I soooooo want this job, it was the 1st one I applied for back at the beginning of March and is only 30 hours a week but rather good money :D

If she was offered it we would spend the next 48hrs thrashing through everything so that we could come up with a decision - there would be a lot to consider. But inside both of us is a voice saying YES YES!!

Oh go for it SF!! What a chance of a lifetime and well done to Mrs SF! One of my ex-bosses worked in the Caribbean through the Royal Bank of Scotland for a couple of years and loved it! He was waited on hand & foot as they had maids and house-keeping. He came back but did say that he would probably end up retiring over there as the lifestyle was so relaxed and soothing.

Keeping my fingers & toes crossed for you! :)

Hope you get what you want SF and good luck Isis - fingers crossed for both of you.

I am having a quiet nervous breakdown today! We are decorating the living room (a big room and my computer is in there) ready for one of my internet friends to come and stay for a long weekend, next weekend!

I ordered the carpet and Mr. C was supposed to pick it up today in his estate car. What happens - the clutch cable went on it so he had to have it towed to the garage yesterday.

I went round to get the carpet in my car boot but even with the back seats down they said it wouldn't go in and would crease badly so I had to shell out £20 to have it delivered later today. Then my son phoned and said his friend had turned up with a van and he could do it. Too late!

I will be offline as soon as he starts moving the rest of the stuff out. He only has Saturday morning and Sunday to do it. I hope nobody asks me any bookcase questions cos (a) I will probably be offline and (b) it is probably not going to be as it was with the moving (I'm not saying any more).

With kids to think of it must be a tough decision. But the opportunity is an amazing one.
Good luck for whatever comes your way.

Woo-woo-woo!!!! Not everyone would like to hear this but I just have to share - I started yesterday leaving Abbie who was 2 in January without her nappy and we had two wet spots in the living room, but today we have had no accidents but one poo in the toilet!!! Hurrah!

I would like her to be toilet-trained before we go on holiday in July, but I am not reading too much in today's exciting development, but I will keep you all posted!

Katie was just over 2 when she was toilet-trained both day & night so maybe Abbie will be quick too!

I'll have to give up my beloved nappies - no more hanging them out on the washing line, no more seeing them blowing in the wind. I'll either have to have another or sell them on E-bay.................E-bay, here I come!!!

Good Heavens what an exciting day for all today is??

sf - well what can I say I am so so so delighted about your news, my fingers are crossed too - think about it from my POV - I now have two stunning holiday destinations to head for in the next couple of years!! Wayhey way to go Mrs SF!!!!

Isis - how did it go hon?? Do you know or if you don't when will you know?? Did you have leaky pits or did you sail through with your usual aplomb??

Crit - your carpet?? Isn't it alway the case with delivery and things like that? Well good luck anyway getting your carpet home and down and everything replaced. So if I decided to come for coffe - fancy getting a new kitchen??

And finally Bella - oh little lady is nearly there. Bless her. Funnily enough my sis in law has been round with her little one [same age as Abbie] and she was marvellous all day with her potty, until Emma disappeared for 1/2 an hour and left me in charge. Alexandra managed to deposit 25 pints of wee on the lounge floor, no poo's mind you!!

I shall be taking Sid to the vet in the morning...he's cut his leg and it was healing nicely until he decided to chew at it...grrr...anyway I want some drugs for him so it doesn't get infected!

After that I shall be heading to the cinema to see Oceans 13 and will probably find time for a cuppa and bit of writing in Starbucks before returning suitably shattered to my home where I sahll chill to some quality Tuesday night TV!
