Who's gonna watch??

Me for sure!! It sounds like, according to the hype a mix of 'Sex in the City', 'Twin Peaks', 'Dynasty', 'STepford Wives' and 'Dallas' all rolled into one!!

How can you resist??? I know I can't, being a Sex in the City fan - I am missing the girls big time - so this is an opportunity to welcome new talent into my house [and I am not talking women here!!!!!:devil: ].

I shall be watching this too flip..apparently it has gone down a storm in the US. I am not a Sex in the City fan so this will be new territory for me.

I loved Sex & The City but from the reviews I have heard so far I don't really fancy it...... I might have a quick look though as it is repeated on E4 at 11pm (my 10pm slot is already booked to watch the repeat of the very 1st episode of Cracker on ITV3)

I did and it really did live up to the hype; gorge blokes, dark dark comedy, sex, intrique.

I loved it and cannot wait for next week. Oh and if you struggle to watch it or it clashes with something else - it is repeated at 11pm on E4 [straight afterwards].

Oh yes, even if the rest of show is crap (which it is not), it is truly worth watching for Mike, but yes what is his hidden secret? I think I am going to love this show. And I love the fact that Teri Hatcher has not been given the glamourous role, it makes her more human. Although does anyone else think she looks like Susan Sarandon's daughter? I love the family women and don't you just love the cheeky boys she has, they are going to be fun. However, what I would like to know is when the father came back from his trip and sent his boys out to play with the rugby ball, so he could have a bit of nookie with her, what did they do with the baby................... And loved it when she whacked him one, when he said they should just risk it! This is going to be unmissable TV, I just hope that when 24 comes back on our screens it is not shown at the same time..............Yeah, my resolution of watching less TV is slowly twindling!!

The characters are fab!! I watched it on E4 last night and the mystery surrounding the whole sucide is intriguing me! The characters are what makes the show tho, I really like the mom with the triplets who drive her mad and terri hatchers character is great. The guy she fancies Mike??? he is such totty!!

Yep couldnt agree more, those 2 shows are hard to follow but the good Ol' US of A seem to have done it again :)

I'm enjoying this. I loathed 'Friends' and SITC, but this is worlds apart, classy, sharp, dark and intelligent. Love it.

I really like the show as well but I find it so frustrating that it is SOOooooo Tim Burton-esque in it's style. Sort of Sisscor Hands meets James & the Giant Peach meets Beetlejuice.

Who is Mike after? I seen him going to the old guy's place who now has terminal cancer, did he mention who it was who killed his daughter? I think Mike is in Wysteria Lane to find out what happened to Dierdra, who I think has been killed. The old guy is her dad and I take it that she used to date Mike. So I wasn't able to stand all the talk about this show without having seen it at all...so I watched it all this week while I am on break from school. I must say I thought it was going to be dumb...but man was I wrong. I had no idea it was such a murder mystery and the story lines are fantastic. No wonder it has won so many awards.

I must say my favorite part so far is when Susan had Ms. Huber all over her face. lol.

from what i gather, mike is in wisteria lane trying to find out what happened to deirdre (or whatever her name is!) coz she has either disappeared or died. mike used to either go out with or was married to her and the old guy is her dad who has a terminal illness so wants to find out what happened asap before he pops his clogs and threatens mike to get a move on and takes away his money.

Hmmm, I found last night's a bit disappointing (although admittedly some of that was down to the non-appearance of Mike). I didn't feel we got much further ahead really.

Nice to see Ryan O'Neal, although it makes me feel old as I used to fancy him in his hey day and now he looks old and fat.

At the dance, Susan was pretending to zachs dad that she knew all about Dana, then was really shocked to find out that Zach had killed her! then it was the adverts and I came on here for a min and went to the loo and when I got back it had started again and Zach's dad was saying to Zach "now that you know you didn't kill Dana.........." What did I miss!?

I didn't realise it was E4 - but I think it must have been cos the episode I normally watch on Wednesday was on on Sunday - which worked out very conveniently cos America's Next Top Model clashes on a Wednesday.

But Mrs Huber's sister recognised a photo of Mary Alice and called her Angela, I think that they were in the same hospital or something - either as patients or nurses. And I think that Mrs Huber would have know the minute Mary Alice and hubby moved in or when Mrs Huber moved to Wisteria Lane. And Mrs Huber's sister [god I wish I now her name] went through Martha's photo albums and found a photo of Angela - to prove it to herself. So there is a definite link between Mary Alice and Mrs Huber!

ARGH! My sister and I were watching *Desperate Housewives* as per usual on Wednesday and we seemed to notice that the name Deirdra came up a lot. We must've missed a show because we've no idea who she is?! Also, the guy who mike was talking to who had the sweet tooth... Who's he and in what relation does he have with Mike?! From reading the posts, I am guessing he is an old guy with cancer who hired Mike to find his daughter Deirdra *deceased/alive, I don't know, but he is rich...*. Can anyone clarify that?

Mike was burgling a house and he was shot by the householder, the next day he took Susan out for Valentine's day and they discussed Susan's worry about Mike wanting kids. He had to go home and he collapsed - was taken to hospital where the police arrived to interview him.

Bree insisted that Rex tell her about his sexual desires - so he finally caves in and does. They then decide to give it a go - so Rex goes to his box of tricks removes the handcuffs and begs Bree to tie him up. She agrees, but not before she runs the handcuffs through the dishwasher - BEST MOMENT EVER!!!

Gabrielle - got a job as a model in a bed showroom - she lasted about a day - being a prima donna. Oh and she sacks her maid, who then comes back to haunt her when she gets a job as a makeup salesperson in a department store.

Lynette - has a set too with one of her neighbours, who had accused the 3 boys of being criminals and stealing peoples possessions. Which actually they had and stored them in their Wendy house.

Mrs Huber's sister recognises a photo of Mary Alice [which was on the frdge in her house] and her husband tried to cover the photo up with his body and say no that is not Angel that was Mary Alice my wife. But Mrs Huber's sister knew it was Angela who she ahd seen and so went back to Mrs Huber's house and checked through her photo albums and sure enough there was a photo of Mary Alice. [see Cap'ns last thread].

And that is all I can really remeber of note. Oh I htink Carlos employs a new gardener [yum yum] but Gabrielle is not impresssed - wait till the next episode.

Why, whats Carlos done ????

I have watched this show religiously from the start, but i missed Wednesdays episode, and the two posts above sound like riddles. Can anyone explain EXACTLY what happened ?

Sorry Bonny - bit late but here goes:

Well before Carlos and Gabrielle got married she signed a pre-nuptual agreement, that if they divorced she would get very little, if anything.

Since Carlos's arrest, Gab has discovered that he has a secret bank account in the Caymen Islands, AND she has banked the cheque the hospital gave her for $700,000 compo for Carlos's mother dying and not told Carlos.

The doctor came to the house and was speaking to Carlos - so Carlos now knows that Gab was trying to wangle some money out of him. but Gab explained the $700K away by saying that she had to keep it secret because if the authorities got hold of it then they would seize it. But Carlos argued that she was keeping it - and not using it to get him out of a prison sentence.

So he drew up a post - nup agreement - and tried to make her sign. She refused. Saying that she would tell the authorities about the Cayman Island bank a/c if he made her sign it.

So off he went, secretly and moved the bank a/c so she has no access to it. And now he has her over a barrel - so he again made heer sign, again she refused - so he physically held her down and threatened her until she had to sign [he moved her hand in doing so].

Oh and he has been tampering with her birth control pills for months now.

So what does Gabrielle do?? Runs straight into the arms of John [the gardener].

And that is about the top and bottom of the Carlos/Gabrielle storyline at the mo.

When I read back what I wrote it didn't make any sense to me either :laugh: I have such a way with words........

So Bonny, Fip has explained the gabrieille/carlos thing.
The other thing was the Zach/ Dana mystery.
Well we know that Mrs Hubers sister recognised Mary Alice's photo at paul's house, but she insisted it was Angela. And we know Mary Alice told the therapist that she used to be Angela.
Mrs Hubers sister told Zach that she knew his mother and remembered him as a baby too, BUT that was when he had another name....
Zach immedietly says "Dana"
We also know that the body in the toy box that turned up a few episodes back is a woman.
I think that the body could be the real Mary Alice.
Mrs Huber's sister remembers that they had a child called Dana, we don't know if Zach is Dana, or if something happened to Dana and they stole Zach (maybe they thought he was a girl)
I think though that Zach remembers Dana being around, he certainly has mentioned her before.
it's all very mysterious, and brilliant!

Max, it was a good one. I'll leave it to Flip, it is her speciality! What I will tell you is that it was Dierdra (or whatever her name is) who was in the toy-box that Paul threw into the river! I wonder if she was Zach/Dana's mother. Bree's son Andrew is a vile, nasty little creep and is going to be the perfect son for a wee while then is going to do something really vile to rock his mother's world - btw where is the daughter?

Anyone see the resemblence between Susan and her on-screen mother, it is really uncanny!

Aha! And Dierdra is the one Mike is looking for.

I meant to ask who that is who plays Susan's mother. I know I've seen her before but I can't put a name to her. Anyone?

God this plot is becoming way too complicated for me. I mean the Deidra/Mike/Angela/Mary Alice plot - good lord. as Bella says the body we now know is defo Deidra, the body in the box that is. How on earth that has a relevance to Mary Alice/Paul and/or Zack I just don't know.

Although - think about it - the body has been in the box for 14 years. ZACH IS ABOUT 14 [ALTHOUGH HE LOOKS ABOUT 22] OOPS CAPS!! So I am trying to work this out in my head as I type - but if Zach is 14 and the body has been there for 14 years - could it not be possible that Zach is Deirdra's son?? But then I come unstuck when it comes to the Angela/Mary Alice involvment.

Maybe - Anglea kidnapped him and murdered Deirdra and then changed her name to Mary Alice??

I love the Lynette and Mrs [whats her name??] the old biddy with attitude [I love her] - the one who gave Lynette the Tiffany lamp?? This is so nice a story line.

Susan's mother reminds me of, I think, it is Susan Sarandon - I know it isn't her cos Grouchylovegod told us her real name. But she looks fab for her age - but her behaviour is driving me mental - shoot me if I ever turn out like her??

And I want to go and get Bree and bring her back here, she can stay in the spare room and clean my house and we can cook together!! That son of hers is the nastiest, most evil little, misguided brat ... I know it is not RL - but god I was angry!!!

An' hoorah - Carlos has ripped up the post nup!!! Can't wait for next week when Gab is pregnant!!!

Roll on season two.
The last episode was brilliant. I cried for Bree when she was told that Rex was dead.
Poor old Bree I hope she doesn't get done for murder, thats even if he really is dead! I thought the phone call to Bree telling that he was dead was a bit cold. Maybe Rex thinks that she was trying to poison him and is getting his own back, nasty and far fetched but hey this is desperate housewives- anything is possible.
Nasty weirdo George :boxing: hope he gets what he deserves from Bree when she finds out what he has done.
Does anyone else think that Gabrielle was a bit thick telling lover boy John that the baby might be his? Wasn't he about to go off to college so wouldn't have known anyway.
So obviously we all know that Mike is Zach's dad. I think GMTV spoilt it by telling us all even though it was looking likely I'd have prefered not to have known the outcome.
What puzzles me is why Angela (Mary Alice) and paul would move to fairview when they knew that Felicia had a sister there. You'd think that if they didn't want anyone to know where they went that they would have moved elsewhere.
Brilliant finale, all change for next season and the new family have something to hide

I really enjoyed the finale, although I can't help wishing that we didn't have to wait so long for a new series!

I'm having withdrawl already. I have the first three episodes recorded so I might watch them again. Thank goodness C4 repeated those first three as I was without TV at the time and would have missed it otherwise

It's fab when you find a series you enjoy that much. I think DH has a fantastic appeal though, most people I know watched it.

i confess it took me a while to get into it. It was'nt until I popped down to my parents and I realised it must be something good as Dad was stopping up after 9.30 at night, even when he was tired and dosing on the sofa he would wake up. So I started watching it with them.

So am now hoping that they will show repeats so I can watch the beginning. But you know what its like, they show repeats of the things you saw first time around and wish you had'nt, over and over again and never show what you want to see.

Does anyone else remember Eady's son being mentioned in later episodes as early on she asks Mrs Huber to baby sit her son while she goes out on a date.
I don't recall him even being mentioned after that.

I've always wondered about her son too...it was only mentioned once and never again.

The DVD is being released in the states in September...so I would guess it would be similar to that time or a bit later for UK...?
