God, just how rough did she look tonight??? A lesson for us all when over-indulging on alcohol and ciggies eh? Apparently she is only 43 years old.

Hope she stays in for a while though, she is as mad as a box of frogs

NB: Dear lord, I just looked her up on google and she was born on 15th July 1963. That makes her 41 yrs old.

She should be good entertainment though. I watched her on an american reality show, she was p****d as a fart the entire time, walked around naked and tried to get off with quite a few blokes.

Brigitte rocks! I saw her on the Graham Norton show and she was really winding him up, she is pretty intimidating tho and to be honest I was finding the CBB housemates dead boring until she turned up! Did you notice the way Caprice was sucking up to her?

I wanted to hug Brigitte tonight when she was in the diary room. That woman looked so vulnerable and hurt.

I think BB has turned into the worst kind of voyuerism. ...and I wish to God I had as much dignity as germaine has and could turn my back on it!!! ... but alas I am too shallow .. and I would miss chatting about it on here.

Get Jackie out, she is too old to be in that situation. The dotty moo is obviously totally unaware of what/who/when/whatever Big Brother is.

Now that Germaine has the dignity to walk I am passing my Germaine vote onto Brigitte - who to date has acted totally into the spirit of things and deserves a lot better from BB.

I think she has handled the whole thing magnificently........I'm all for a little controversy but this is a bit too much. Jackie is being very nice now but as Brigitte said, she IS Jackie Stallone & a few days never mind a few weeks of living like that will shorten her temper & then Brig will get it. Jackie's son is part of Hollywood royalty & his mum has certain expectations........she's not gonna slum it for long.

I think Evil BB has just overstepped the mark.

Andrea

I was just saying to my husband that Bridget could win this.

Having a dotty old ex-mil is enough to send anyone round the bend, but Bridget has handled everything brilliantly.

When I first saw Bridget on the carpet that first night, I thought the exact things she said in the diary room tonight, "ooh Bridget Nielson, hard nut, over powering", but seeing her on the show she has come across as a lovely person.
This kind of show always does well for the people who have got a kind of "hard" image on the outside, but when in the house, everyone gets to see that they are normal people with normal feelings.

My votes are definately for Brigitte now.

Go Brigitte.

I agree with this post entirely. I really hope she holds it together. Germaine was a bit snotty with her in the kitchen and she was dignified enough to simply walk away ... here's hoping she will just go with the flow and be able to live with the Spectre of Hollywood Plastic that is Jackie Stallone.

I think it's cruel what they've done. Not only to Brigitte but to Jackie too. That woman has probably never heard what anyone really thinks of her and now it's going to be all over the papers what people think of the way she looks.

Why on earth did she agree to go in anyway? She doesn't need the money, she doesn't need the profile and I can't believe she's simply doing it for charity.

Oh my gawd, the responsibility of it all! I should have done one myself really, bet the odds have really shortened now, but reading other BB type forums, the general feels is very sympathetic towrds her, so if she can just hold on and keep her dignity, I reckon she's in with a really good chance of winning.

Yes, along the same lines I think the amount of "stirring up" this will do isn't going to help any of them. What I mean is, Jackie has said in the diary room that Brigitte has been very nice to her and that she was impressed because she knew there was no love lost between them. So when she sees Brigitte freaking out and saying what she really feels to the other housemates, that is going to stir up a lot of animosity in Jackie, whereas it was probably a case of "let sleeping dogs lie" before all this.

The same goes for all the sucking up those boys were doing. If they had any ideas that she would help their careers or invite them to her place afterwards, as she said, they can forget it when she sees how they were making snide comments about her looks and laughing at her behind her back.

I can imagine Jackie sitting in her mansion watching the whole of CBB on a wall size screen and being shocked and horrified at some of the things that were said about her. She is a rich and powerful woman so perhaps they had better watch their backs

I think it's all very nasty and well over the top for BB to stoop this low. It seems there are no lengths they will go to in order to get the public to watch the show but they also seem to think we are all cold and heartless enough to enjoy other people's discomfort and they are underestimating the GBP. Far from being entertaining it has been uncomfortable viewing watching the contestants being humiliated like that.

floopy
12-01-2005, 09:30 AM
I've just been asking myself if I'd feel as upset about the mother-in-law thing if it had been done to one of the regular housemates in the non-celebrity version of BB, and I'm not sure that I would.

Then I thought about whether it's worse for Brig cos she's in the public eye than it would be for a "normal" person, which it probably is, but then I thought (I've been thinking a lot this morning), she choses a celebrity life style and enjoys the good things that come with that, so shouldnt we therefore be less symapthetic to her plight than we would be otherwise.

Oh I dunno.

Why is Brigette getting SO stressed out (chain smoking etc) at Jackie's arrival?. Granted she was the last person she expected to see and it would be a bit uncomfortable to be stuck in their with her ex mother in law but why not just keep her distance? What's all this stricken talk about "what happens afterwards" and her kids? Is Jackie Mrs Goodfella? Is she going to put a contract out on her family? If she is REALLY that powerful which I doubt, wouldnt she had done something to her after their divorce? Why wait until now? I agree BB has stooped to an all time low in revelling in someone's discomfort but isnt it being blown up out of all proportion? I thought Bridgette was a tougher cooke than that and am disappointed in her wimpishness. She could use it to her advantage if she plays it clever. Also what happened to the solidarity from Ms Greer "we will protect you Bridgette!" - she has now f***ed off!

Now, call me cynical if you like, but there is a method in this madness, nasty though it is.

I did read somewhere, but I can't find it now, how much each house member is getting for doing this, and I seem to recall that Brigitte is getting a hell of a lot more than the others, by a long way. The payments are staggered to their public profile. Maybe BB want to get their moneys worth out of Brigitte, through public sympathy, and I wonder if she was actually aware of why she was getting so much more money?

Can anyone find those figures? They were on the net the day they went in, but I can't find it - I clean my cache/cookies/history every day.

Germaine stated that Brigitte was currently going through a very nasty divorce. Maybe she's worried that the extra publicity could count against her.

Normally, an appearance on BB wouldnt effect her family/home life, but having her ex m-i-l making headlines will obviously stir up stories about her private life and put the media spotlight on her children, which it woudlnt normally have done, had Jackie not turned up.

I think she's got a very valid point.

I was thinking pretty much the same thing last night Floopy.
Why would bringing ex-mil in make her kids more vulnerable. Ok yeh, the media might bring up her past, but as none of the kids are Stallone's why would they become hounded by the media.
Also she had a very public life before CBB and she knew what she was getting into when she signed up. The media could have hounded her kids even in ex-mil hadn't come in
And how powerful is Jackie Stallone, I can imagine her to be one of these Hollywood types who say she is powerful but in reality no-one actually listens to her.
But the way Brigitte goes on about her, its as if Jackie Stallone can snap her fingers and things get done.
I don't know, but I still want her to win.
Her odds on the site I put my bet on have gone down to 12-1.

I was watching This Morning today and dear Philip Schofield said he thought it was cruel etc. That, yes, she signed up to do the show but she didn't sign up to be confronted with people from her past. But when they sign up, they, supposedly, don't know who the other housemates are going to be. So Jackie could've been one of the original HMs. Not sure what point I'm trying to make, except that when they sign up for BB they really are letting themselves in for a whole load of surprises. That's the format. And if they don't happen to like one of the surprises, well, tough.

Andrea

BB is well known for bringing surpises on the housemates, so those who go in should expect anything is possible.

Brigitte was recently on an American reality show where she stripped off starkers, got drunk nearly every day and was shown fondling and being fondled by a rap star in the US (forget his name), nearly every night. Not quite thinking about her kids then was she?

I think that Jackie Stallone has no actual "power" whatsoever, other than to be a thoroughly nasty ol bag when she thinks her precious son is going to be dragged through the courts or have some of his money taken away by a big threatening great Dane.

Brigitte is no threat to Jackie now, and she should relax a bit. The Ol bat will be sick of the place soon anyway. If the public dont vote her out, I cant see the pampered, spoilt old lady staying for more than a few days ......She knows that Germaine found it easy to leave, simply by asking, so Im sure that by the time Jackie has had her make up on for four days and its time to chip it off, she will ask to go.

So far, Brigitte is being dignified and calm and is coming across as a thoroughly pleasant person. Here's hoping she keeps it up and doesnt get too stressed about the Bride of Frankenstein.

Trouble is, I cant honestly say I like any of them enough to really want them to win.
Bez acts like a prat sometimes and is snappy and irritable - then nominates others for being snappy and irritable
Brigitte can be insensitive and judgemental.
Jeremy and Caprice are still performing - both have blank eyed, emotionless stares which hide whats going on in their heads.
