Feeling a lot better this morning than I did last night. I ended up having an asthma attack due to the thunderstorms. Pretty scarey.

Although i was VERY unsympathetic when a girl I work with went into a mad panic in case she got an asthma attack from the heavy rains etc. I thought I would strangle her if she mentioned mould spores one more time!!! I wouldn't mind but she has every ailment going and has to talk about them all VERY loudly... and if she doesn't get anything she's disappointed! ..... oh and for the record she's not even asthmatic!!!!

I'm only asthmatic when it comes to hayfever. Even then I don't get it unless I stick myself in a park or if it rains like it did yesterday.

Patsy, some of the Scottish schools broke up last week! We go back on the 17th or 18th August. It means we can go on holiday before the English schools break-up, so it's not so busy. I don't know why we break up earlier though.

Well, I recovered enough to get up and about again and promptly extended my dream horizon. I went into business, promising myself that one day I'd have enough money to secure the family's financial future, then buy a seagoing yacht and float off into paradise.

I busted a gut to achieve this dream and almost died a few months ago. Now I'm surfacing again, and I've decided to just go with the flow rather than fight the current.

Today is hugely symbolic for me. I'm remembering the original dream and doing what I promised myself all that time ago. :thumbsup:

In a bit of a grump at the moment. This morning I have to virtually dismantle my PC to uninstall last year's version of my antivirus software, so I can install the new improved version for this year. It's a beautiful day here to, lovely, warm and sunny.

Just called the hospital up and hubby is back on the ward after his surgery and everything went well.
He nearly swore at the anaesthetist though because apparently they put in his shoulder a nerve block before they put him to sleep. Which he said they stuck a great big tube (probably a long cannulae/needle) in his shoulder around his collar bone and fiddled around with it, then proceeded to put him to sleep.
Tony said he was gritting his teeth and staring at the ceiling, bless him.

But he is now having a cuppa and watching the open, so he's fairly happy.

I'm off to see him tonight with the kids and there is a chance he may be discharged tonight:thumbsup:


Oh and just to add, I won't be rampaging over the board today, slight madness on my part last night:w00t:

Hello peeeps!

Just a quickie to say I miss you all loads and I hope to be about a bit more very soon! i have been "bedridden" for the last week - been told to take total rest while waiting for an appointment with a specialist at the hospital - diagnosis so far is suspected femoral hernia or a trapped femoral nerve, together with a compacted bowel from all the effing painkillers, which is putting pressure on the suspected hernia/trapped nerve - in other words im an effing wreck and if I was a dog they would have put me out of my misery by now :glare:

So apart from being in constant pain things are cool and the gang here in Devon as I await the 41st birthday next week :cry: :laugh:

I just started the week off in fine fashion, setting the precariously piled draining board aslide while rooting for a bowl for my grapes, and sending a heavy pint glass tumbling to the tiled floor. Half an hour later we're still sweeping up glass shards and splinters over a 20' radius. Well, I've stopped now to come and say hello here, but the nook-and-cranny-sweeping and grumbling continues behind me.

Good morning all - yes, I'm still about. Just having a few problems (nothing major but keeping me busy)

The woman I co-manage the MSN group with has announced it's closure because I wrote and asked her when she was going to come back! There are a lot of members who (like on here) have made friends and they want somewhere else to keep in touch so I've been helping one of the Assistant Managers to set up a new Group. It isn't difficult to run an MSN group, it's just navigating round the set-up bits and bobs.

Finally got my computer set up on my desk instead of the dining table too. It was doing my back in sitting at that dining table but thankfully my son took the old one away and put the new one in place yesterday.

Grandson's been keeping me on me toes already and it's only the first week of the holidays. Asked if his mate could stay the night on Monday so I agreed thinking it would keep Tom amused. Had to keep stepping in to stop the "play fighting" cos Mr. C is on "earlies" this week and was in bed. Gave the friend dinner and breakfast and he promptly buzzed off with some other mates and left Tom whinging that he was bored and his bike had a puncture, blah blah! And then there was the rain, of course.

Good morning all. A bit groggy. I'm not a morning person at the best of times.

I switched off monitor and went to turn the TV off last night but something on Big Brother caught my attention and I sat down in the armchair to watch - big mistake. I fell asleep (well Big Brother has that effect a lot of the time - lol).

I vaguely remember hubby moving about at 4-ish cos he's on earlies. I woke up and he'd gone to work so I fell into bed for a couple of hours. Was having a nice deep sleep and the flipping postman hung on the doorbell at 8-ish. :mad: Parcel delivery needing signature. I nearly fell downstairs in my haste and confusion.

At least the sun is shining and it's dry. Time for a brew. Where's Dol then? Not Bognor Butlins I bet - lol.

I've spent more hours on that new MSN Group than I ever did on the old one but it's only to get it off the ground. It's doing really well.

Nothing in my diary for today so far. I signed up for 2 mb download speed with Wannado yesterday (cost a one off of £20 - cheek) and it said 10 days to take effect. I was offline when I got up and when I reconnected it is already changed over. Don't know if it's worth it unless you do a lot of downloading of big files but we'll see.

The tornado hit Birmingham which is in the middle of the country. And yes it is very unusual.

Lots of people were out in it taking photos, but it probably wasn't as bad as in some parts of the USA!

We did Andrea, we loved it, the kids loved it! The only bad thing is coming back up the A68, a speed camera flashed as I went past! The thing is I am certain I was within the speed limit and it was the camera on the other side of the road, so it may not have been me but I am sure there weren't any cars on the other side! Oh God, I don't know, the postie will no doubt deliver the bad news if there is any! btw the A68 is littered with the pesky critters!
