View Full Version : Afternoon Plays
On BBC next week (in the afternoon!)
I'm had thought that I might have missed these with having no TV for a couple of weeks, but I'm pleased to see that I haven't and now that I have a proper signal again I can tape them.
In brief there is a different short story every day, some well known actors are in these including Claire Goose, Lisa Faulkner,Raymond Quinn (remeber him from brookie!) and Samantha Janus.
Time Mon-Wed 2.05pm
Thur-Fri 2.30pm
One not to miss I think!
Dolores 22-01-2005, 03:04 PM I only wish I could not miss them, unfortunately I shall be at work :mad2:

I'm crap at recording vidoes -not that I cna't do it - just that I forget to watch them!
Voice of reason 23-01-2005, 02:50 PM I'll be taping thse as well, I used to be a big fan of the afternoon play on Radio 4 but got out of the habit of listening, so I'm looking forward to these.
Today's was wonderful.
It was the one about 'George' - played by Reece Dinsdale, also starring Lisa Faulkener and the gorge Scottish actress with the titian locks [she was in The Vice].
It was about the hilarious antics of Rosie and her lesbian lover trying very unsuccessfully to murder George - it was brilliant.

And you're supposed to be going cold turkey this week anyway!
I watched the first one, it was quite good... had exams ever since :(
Voice of reason 28-01-2005, 11:43 AM I've taped them all but not watched one as yet.

I really enjoyed this one - I have been off all week poorly, but this was the only one I have managed to see, old memoryloss here forgot about them! WHAT was Reece Dinsdale in???? its doing my head in!!!!
I recorded them all apart fron the first one as the timer didn't kick :mad2: said I didn't have enough disc space left. I did, so don't know what went wrong.
So I've got four to watch over the weekend. Looking forward to it :)
Bella 28-01-2005, 05:15 PM Ah, I forgot to tape today's one!! And saw the first 2, some of the 3rd one so I have one & half to watch!
Flip, the woman you are talking about is Siobahn Redmond - I love her, she is just fantastic! Anyone remember The High Life when she played the Head Air Hostess with Alan Cumming? It was the funniest show ever! And what made it even more funnier.......for me anyway..........is that my assistant manager looked exactly like Alan's Cumming character (forget his name) and we used to sing the High Life song to him (yes, we were that sad!) and he wasn't too happy about it!!
Did anyone see yesterday's, play The singing Cactus?
I didn't understand the significance of the wolf that Billy kept seeing and was this connected to his death. Anyone shed any light?
I started to watch this - but got distracted by the phone, I didn't understand this one at all. I didn't like the mother either.
I wasn't sure whether this afternoon's Robson Green's play was an 'Afternoon Play' or an 'Afternoon Drama'?? It was called Beaten!
Regardless, it was brilliant - did anyone else see it?
I was doing the ironing, and just happen to catch the beginning, and was hooked. I knew from the beginning what was actually going on - but nevertheless, it still kept you guessing!
Bella 14-03-2005, 03:36 PM Oh bother, I forgot these were back on! I seen the previews for Beaten and it looked quite good! Are they on all week?
