I have been persuaded to go along to see this with a friend tomorrow, but I know nothing about it at all, except Julia Roberts is in it.
Has anyone seen this and if so, what type of film is it and is it any good?

Apparently it owes a great debt to good old Neil LaBute who wrote The Shape Of Things, if that means anything at all.
Basically, all the characters are pricks, and it's a cold hard examination of relationships and sex and all the rest.
I haven't actually seen it, but I know these things.
cheerio!

my friends saw it in the states and loved it. I think its got very good reviews all round. Natalie Portamn and the gorgeous, devine, swoonsome, total man of the moment, Clive Owen picked up a Golden Globe each for their roles in it.
Let us know what its like as i'm thinking of going to see it.

I really disliked all the characters, especially Dan (Jude Law) who seems to want to either start or end a relationship, without any real feelings for anyone else.
I'm not sure if the writer/director wanted us to feel the tension of 'will they/won't they' start a relationship between Dan and Anna (Julia Roberts), but after 45 minutes I really couldn't care less and promptly turned it off.

My brother in law went to see this the other night as a first date!!! Definitely the wrong film to see on a first date, as it is quite sexually explicit, maybe not visually but vocally. However despite the being very embarrassed for both himself and his date, he enjoyed it.
I am going to see next Friday with some friends so will give my update them
Clive Owen is still utterly gorgeous though isn't he?

Clive is totty but I can't stand his monotone voice!
I haven't seen this as my mate described it to me and I think I'll wait for the video/DVD....apparently its no sex but alot of ffing and use of the C*** word...something that I don't like to much of in movies so...
I've just got back from seeing this, it was ok, and it did make me laugh in places but it is not a film I would recommend to anyone.
Maybe if you have nothing to do on a wet Sunday afternoon then rent it out, but I wouldn't suggest you go to the cinema to see it.
