I've been off them for three weeks now and not a single pang! :)

In case you wonder HOW...it was actually an accident!

I bought a Paul McKenna "I Can Make You Thin" CD/book to help me lose weight. Part of it involves visualisations...I had to see myself as healthy, fit and slim. Smoking didn't fit that, so I visualised myself as a non-smoker.

Three weeks later, I am cheerfully exercising every day AND ENJOYING IT! - and eating healthily without giving it a second thought.

I have lost nearly a stone and I'm now a non-smoker!! Yippee!!

PS. But I still don't agree with it being banned in public places.

Ohhh well done Ceri, good on you!!!

And thanks for mentioning the book - I think I may have to have a look at this - I have had to sort my diet out, I have been having problems with the old digestive system the last few months (post gall bladder removal), but if it can help with quitting smoking too then it sounds brilliant!!!

I am worried that once I stop the tobacco then I will put on weight so I need to take control of them both and get it sorted - Im 41 this year so its about time i started looking after my body....after the years of abuse its had

Good luck Ceridwen. I used to smoke and it wasn't until I decided that I really didn't want to do it anymore, and I mean really didn't, was when I was able to quit. But it sounds like you have got it going already. Well done! :)

WELL DONE CERI...I will not have touched a weed for 2 years this April. Best thing I ever did.

I read the Allan Carr - The Easy Way to Stop Smoking.....and have never had a single pang, and I was a 20 a day jobby - quite often double at the weekends.

If you are lucky a hand just reaches across just as you are ready to grab it...that was certainly the case with me...I have tried to stop loads of times before but it was always agony.

I love being a non smoker now.

HURRAHH FOR US!!

Queeenie, the fact that I've ditched nearly a stone means you don't have to put weight on when you quit!

I must admit I was very sceptical about the Paul McKenna thing, but I really had tried everything else and I was desperate. I don't go in to a trance or anything when I listen to it, but it's weird, the message seems to sink in.

I literally gave up smoking and stuffing my chops overnight without a single pang!

I still think the weirdest thing is the exercise tho...I was one of those people who would rather chop my own arm off than get off my backside! But I'm now doing an hour's Reebok Step and half an hour weight training every night and really enjoying it...I always said I never had the time but amazingly I've found it!

The best thing is finding muscles I never knew I had, and my bad back disappearing within a few days.

And thanks for all the messages of support - I really appreciate it!

well done ceri......I have never ever smoked at all myself, but I know lots of people who do and I admire anyone who can give it up. I am not an aggresive anti smoker, but people are much more nicer to be around when they don't. WELL DONE

Thanks guys! :)

Actually, oddly it HASN'T been hard thanks to Paul McKenna - and I never thought I would say that as I've always thought he was a right smarmy git!

I would definitely recommend if you are stuck - he does do a CD just for giving up smoking as well, but I didn't even get that far!

Ceri, where did you get the Paul Mckenna book, is it readily available, or is it a speciality thing. Is it going to be on Amazon?

Use the links to Amazon from this site (Haydon will be VERY happy) and you can buy all of them on there. Just type "Paul McKenna" in as a search. :)

I didn't use the link from here to buy my book from Amazon cos I wasn't here then...but I could make Haydon happy in another way ..maybe.

Also Ceri..I too have not found it hard..people find this difficult to understand..and actually I do to.

Never mind.

PS Haydon, you can always say no. :)

Ceri - you are amazing. One of the reasons I have held back from quitting the ciggies is I don't want to put weight on [only one of the reasons mind you!] - but to give up and lose weight at the same time is astounding and worthy of a massive 'Well Done Medal'.

I bet you feel just fabulous about yourself? And the excersise thing too - you are an inspiration - well done you absolute STAR!!!
