We've all seen the films where the two main characters start off hating each other and end up loving each other. And they do say it's a thin line between love and hate don't they.


I HATE my boss and sometimes obssess over how much I hate him. My friend at work thinks it is a childlike playground thing, where you always pretend to hate the boy you love the most!! I can assure you this is not the case ....... or is it?!



So do you believe that Love and Hate are poles apart or very very close neighbours?

they live poles apart but sometimes they can take a secret little short cut through the "earth" of one's emotions and meet up together at the at the core.......I should have saved that for Valentine's Day....:blush:

To me Love and Hate are very strong emotions, if I really really dont like someone I dont use the word Hate and I try to "dismiss them" from my life so that it doesnt manifest itself as HATE - as I dont like the idea of wasting such a strong emotion on someone I dont like.......

There are one or two (well maybe a couple more :devil: ) people back in Leamington that I dont like, so I dont speak to them - I find that quite liberating in itself, and all of them know who they are, and they know WHY I dont speak to them.....

I had a chap once say to me, you hate me dont you :ohmy: and so I explained carefully (he was a bit dim) that I didnt hate him, I didnt really know him, so how could I hate him, and that I really had no opinion on him at all as he was so not important in my life.......his reply....so you hate me then :unsure: not quite sure which bit he didnt understand!

I see what you are saying and yes i agree too.

Hate is very desructive and the one it destroys is the one who hates ..... I know that's true cos I once read it on the back of a box of matches!!! :laugh:

Hmmm, I do think the two are linked, in that they are both so powerful. In the past I've really fancied someone, but after being given the brush-off I've ended up hating them.

So love can turn to hate, and I guess vice versa, whereas, if I felt antipathy towards someone, it would never turn to either love or hate, as I simply wouldnt feel strongly enough to care either way.
