Girls only
Ok first, this is a serious poll. Answer truthfully and for the sake of keeping it clean- keep it clean!
I was having a serious sort out last weekend and came across a pile of old Cosmo and Marie Claire mags, some were five years old. The reason I held onto them was because of the articles they had on the female orgasm. How to achieve one if you couldn’t, how to have multiple ones and how to have ones that last hours (days even!)
One of the things that struck me is how in each separate article the number of women who have never had an orgasm was quite staggering, and the common number that kept springing up was that over a third of women can not orgasm through intercourse alone.
Now I don’t know about you lot but nearly all my friends say that they can orgasm and not only that but through intercourse they can and not just once but two or three times. A few admit that they have to use a little powered help, but always achieve the big O.
So either the statistics are wrong, or women just don’t like to admit that they don’t always get what they want.
The articles are very informative and I can see why I kept them. One of the things that made my laugh was when they were talking about the position of the clitoris, apparently if the positon (distance from vagina) is even a millimetre short of what it should be then it might as well be behind your ear! Although I have also read that the distance doesn’t matter at all
Out of curiosity if you take part please be truthful, I won’t be making it a public poll (fear not!) and men please don’t add what you do, cos this is about woman
Please tic the option that best applies to you. (this is about clitoral orgasms, not G spot ones!) If you’re offended by this poll and think it’s out of pace on SO, then inform a mod.
claire 10-02-2005, 01:08 PM Sometimes I don't but I don't worry about it. Sometimes if its too hot in the room I don't. Also, occasionally if I've just watched something really really interesting on TV I find my mind wanders and this can be a hindrance...
Also, occasionally if I've just watched something really really interesting on TV I find my mind wanders and this can be a hindrance...LMAO did you see desperate houswives last night?! If you did then you'll know what I mean when I ask could you have left that kebab driblling over the edge of the dresser? I couldn't! So I guess I'm easily distracted too.
Voice of reason 10-02-2005, 02:43 PM What do you want me to edit Claire?
I don't mind saying what I voted either. I almost always orgasm and usually more than once, but the majority are through fore (or after!) play rather than during intercourse (although I do have those sometimes too and also unconscious ones in my sleep - they wake me!)
I'm sure that state of mind is important to whether or not I orgasm as well, fantasy helps :wink2:
Edit: I doubt anyone will be offended Bob but I've added an *Adult content* warning to the thread title just in case :)
Ceridwen 10-02-2005, 05:12 PM I am stunned by the three that said they orgasm through intercourse alone - I didn't realise it was even physically possible!!
There is absolutely NOTHING orgasmic on the inside to me, it just gives me a "full" feeling which can enhance the clitoral stimulation. No way could I come through penetration!
I would be very interested to know whether those that said they can achieve this have always been able to do so, whether they find it easy, or whether it required practice/technique/particular partner etc.
Mr C is the only man who ever could manage to do it for me anyway, so I have generally been rather deprived, and believe me I have had plenty of practice!
As this is serious - I have answered seriously - I think it was option 3. And this is mainly during foreplay, external stimulation is the key.
I often don't either Claire, but like you say I spot cobwebs on the ceiling or think ooh I must wash the children's uniforms - it worries me not one jot if I don't. If I want I can and that is all that matters. I am having more ones during my sleep than I can ever remember - and the nice thing about these ones is that I have no idea who is with me - sort of naughty but hmmmm very nice!!!:angel_not
Dolores 10-02-2005, 05:33 PM Well I voted sometimes through sex but mostly through outside stimulation!
...but to be honest it's such a long time since I had sex that I'm not sure what it would be now! :wink2:
I also have to say, (and i'm not boasting and it doesn't happen often), but I have been known to ejaculate! :ninja:
Gosh how embarrasing is this writing it down! I hope Maxine doesn't tell our mum!!!
Ceridwen 10-02-2005, 05:35 PM Blimey Dol you're a right goer aren't you!! :naughty: :wink2:
Dolores 10-02-2005, 05:38 PM Blimey Dol you're a right goer aren't you!! :naughty: :wink2:
not anymore, sadly!

I feel kind of crude speaking about all this on a forum, however I don't mean it in a rude way. Sex to me isn't a rude thing, its beautiful. I just want to say to your post above Ceri..
It is possible to have an orgasm through Sex, it is weird, much stronger and longer and has no warning. It is not due to outside stimulation.
It is possible to have sex and have outside stimulation too, its just the way you do it. If he's on top, it helps if you put a pillow under your bum... If your'e on top, devote a little time to movement thats purely selfish on your behalf, he'll get his turn every time so don't worry about him!
What's the betting this will turn out to be the most read thread on the forum. I can see us getting onto the front page when someone googles 'orgasm' :)
Very envious of anyone who orgasms in their sleep. I'm one of these people who always wakes up just as it's about to happen and the moment is lost.
I can see where Ceri's coming from (scuse choice of words) as I've gone for the second from last option, as although there's nothing like a good long thrust, I'm more sensative to external stimuli.
Dol - Kleenex - paaah. Get a beach towel and fold it over several times - works for me! The alternative is to have sex in the bath, but it can be a bit chilly!
I also have to say, (and i'm not boasting and it doesn't happen often), but I have been known to ejaculate! :ninja:
Scarily I once witnessed myself doing this [mirror], I was about 22 years old and didn't initially realise what had happened - I was a slow starter you know?
Gosh how embarrasing is this writing it down! I hope Maxine doesn't tell our mum!!!
LMAO - so do I - I will blush on your behalf if she ever did.

Oh poop - I was thinking perhaps I had been a bit too frank here and was thinking p'raps I should delete that part - but OH NO Dol has to go and quote me!!
Well in for a penny in for a pound - I was experimenting by myself!!!

Oh goody - Claire you now tell us a story about you and the mirrors, that can detract from my rather candid admission [Dol it was all your fault - you mentioned it in the first place!!] AND I AM NOT EVEN DRUNK, HAVEN'T EVEN SNIFFED A DROP!!!!!:wallbash:

You watch tv whilst having sex!!
Ooops sorry - i'm not here, never posted - there is a glitch in the forum.
Voice of reason 11-02-2005, 07:16 AM It's interesting that so many of us have orgasms in our sleep, it just goes to show that the brain is indeed the biggest sex organ in the body and that erm...external stimulation is not an absolute requirement!

No I said If I've just watched something interesting on TV!!

Oh gawd, I could NOT have left the kebab dribling over the edge, I would have done exactly the same as Bree. In fact I would have probably got up and binned as the smell would have seriously interfered with my strokes!!!
Cockney 11-02-2005, 10:01 AM I have had orgasms in my sleep but this only happens when I have not had sex for about a week
As a man it is quite annoying as it makes a mess and I have to get up and clean up it is embarrassing as well I feel like I have wet the bed
As I understand it the clitoral orgasm is different than the virginal one
This, believe it or not is the same in men
Stimulation of the shaft produces a different orgasm to direct stimulation of the glands which is why male orgasm through oral sex is more intense as it can be glands only
And the special sex as you girls have put it produces shaft only
I think it maybe more important to a woman to achieve orgasm during intercourse but personally I don’t mind if they do or don't some times it is hard to wait and this in no way spoils the pleasure for me
I would like to think this is ok so long as you carry on until both parties are satisfied
Do any of you fake it when you don't come just to please your man?
I hope you don’t mine me joining in
Ceridwen 11-02-2005, 01:18 PM Cockney I have NEVER faked it, what's the ruddy point?
To be honest most men I've been with couldn't care less whether I did or didn't anyway!
Fee For All 11-02-2005, 01:42 PM I seem to be in the minority here:unsure: but for me, all that faffing about beforehand doesn't really do the trick, although the fussy Mr FFA does reckon I do a damned fine bl*w job (though he spoiled it rather by saying at least I couldn't speak with my mouth full)
Nope, for me it's got to be a comprehensive rogering every time. Which is just as well, as himself's preferred foreplay is to brandish his 'weapon of choice' while declaring a la Highlander 'There can be only one...'
(Think I must be one of Cockney's 'virginal' ladies  )
I would never fake it either .......
Fee For All 11-02-2005, 01:45 PM Me neither...make 'em keep going till I'm through!
Cockney 11-02-2005, 02:16 PM Well it’s good to see that you don't fake it
Because we can't tell
To answer one of the original questions of this tread
I have only ever meet three women who had never had an orgasm
the first was very young so I don't know if she counts she used to stop her self because she thought that she was going to wet her self but after some reassurance she was ok
The second took a lot of time and a lot of effete but we got there eventfully and I found that it's like riding a bike once you get the hang of it its easy
The 3ed was a nightmare when ever she would get near she would rive about like she was having a fit it was like trying to stay on a bucking bronco
and fore play was worse I sprained my wrist and she nearly broke my neck once
and when I tried the marital aid it ended up half way across the room
Gave up in the end
Voice of reason 11-02-2005, 05:03 PM the first was very young so I don't know if she counts she used to stop her self because she thought that she was going to wet her self but after some reassurance she was ok
I think this must be very common as I went through the same thing before I 'got the hang' as it were. I sorted it with half an hour to myself, a mirror and my first vibrator, once I knew what was the other side of that feeling I was more than happy to 'let go' It's essential to know your own body first I think, unless you are lucky and stumble across orgasm (or a very clued up bloke) early on in your sexual life.
I've never faked it though, I'm a rubbish actress and I'd probably over do it, al lá Meg in 'When Harry met Sally'
Ceridwen 11-02-2005, 05:14 PM What I still want to know is - how do vaginal orgasms happen? Is there ANY clitoral stimulation involved, whether directly or indirectly? Do they "build" the same way as a clitoral orgasm? And which bit exactly is stimulated? Does it matter what position you're in? Do you have to "try" and have one or does it just happen naturally? Does it require practice?
Please help me out here gals!
Voice of reason 11-02-2005, 05:21 PM I can only speak for myself but if I have an orgasm during intercourse it's either due to pressure on the clitoris or because I have just had one pre-intercourse and am in the perfect condition to have another one, though this could just as easily be a 'mentally induced' one I suppose (like the asleep ones)
Ceridwen 11-02-2005, 05:26 PM So do they feel the same as clitoral ones VOR? And would you ever masturbate, or ask your partner to touch you, in such a way that you only gave yourself vaginal stimulation?
(I'm sorry that may be a bit too rude).
It's just that I hear tales of women masturbating by inserting things in the vagina (and nothing else) but have never actually MET a woman who says she does this!
That's why I am so confused. http://www.foroedonkey.com/vb/images/smilies/pensando.gif

D'you know, I haven't a clue! It's just the way it has always been for me and tbh I'd hate to tempt providence by trying to analyse it, besides which I'm usually otherwise occupied:blush:
Voice of reason 11-02-2005, 05:35 PM I'd say they do feel the same.
And would you ever masturbate, or ask your partner to touch you, in such a way that you only gave yourself vaginal stimulation?
Nah, that wouldn't do it for me alone I'm sure.
It is confusing because folk so rarely ask the questions they really want to know, I was really surprised when I had my first 'asleep orgasm' but it was ages before I asked anyone else if they had them as well!
It's a good thread this Bob :)
Ceridwen 11-02-2005, 05:35 PM So do you have clitoral ones as well Fee?
(Sorry I sound like a perv!)
Ceridwen 11-02-2005, 05:36 PM BTW I had my first "sleep" orgasm the other night! http://www.diegotorres.com.ar/mensajeitor/foro/caritas/120103_emA52_prv1.gif

Well, they're all perfectly happy to admit to other forms of masturbation so why not this? Maybe I'm weird but my female friends and I discuss everything!
Andrea 11-02-2005, 08:00 PM I've heard of orgasms that occur during penetration, hitting the "g-spot". Never had that, and have no idea where this g-spot is supposed to be.
I have never had a sleep one either.
But don't worry, I do have them. Mine are usually during intercourse but aided by external stimulation.
I have spoken more to you guys about this than to any of my mates ever before, but it is an interesting thread and with some serious posts.
Ceridwen 11-02-2005, 08:02 PM So what about female ejaculation then? I saw a TV prog on it once and they tested it and said it was urine! But those who have experienced it say definitely not....what do those lucky enough to have experienced it think?
Woodstock 11-02-2005, 08:03 PM ........sorry, I was just popping me head in......wrong room......

Definitely not wee! I know when I've wet meself! ...done it enough times!!!:naughty:
First of all WHO tests these things? ..... and WHO let's them!!
Ceridwen 11-02-2005, 09:23 PM Believe it or not, they actually got this woman to, ahem, let one off on camera! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/elconi13/esmilis/yikes.gif
Then they took the substance away and tested it.
But rather oddly, it sort of fired out, rather than running out like wee wee! http://forum.overnet.com/images/smiles/eusa_eh.gif

Well Ceri - I can only say mine happened once that I am aware of. And for disclosure purposes I am drunk - anyway where was I?? oh yeah! I was sitting in front of a mirror at a tender age, [not so tender as to not know what I was doing I hasten to add] - and flip there it was. It was absolutely defo not wee wee, I didn't inspect it that close but it didn't have that same feeling - and the way it shot out I know it wasn't - never happened since I hasten to add - that I know of - cos I just happened to be watching on this ocassion.
There now have I embarrassed myself completely??
Ceridwen 11-02-2005, 09:27 PM Thanks for that comprehensive explanation Flip - it seems we still haven't unravelled the mystery then....
Dolores 11-02-2005, 09:29 PM There now have I embarrassed myself completely??
I'll second that! you hussy! :naughty:
I'm not saying anything, but if you do a Google search Ceri, you'll find plenty of sites with the info you need.
What is it with the 'G-spot'? Publications have convinced men it's so vital to a woman's satisfaction that they're down there half the night with a miners lamp, a compass and an ordnance survey map hunting for the bloomin thing.
What is it with the 'G-spot'?
After this thread, and I hadn't thought about it before, but I reckon mine is in my head!!
Where's yours??
I've no idea Flip Flop. Even the recently installed GPS has failed to pinpoint the blighter. :D
floopy 11-02-2005, 11:12 PM mine is on the back of my neck
Raaaaaah
Critique 12-02-2005, 09:27 AM When I was young (say about 8 or 9) I had never heard of orgasms and I wasn't an early developer either, but a friend of mine used to cut things out of the News of World where there always seemed to be articles about women being assaulted and things like "he removed my bra and fondled my breasts" would send a sort of hot tingly feeling to my "parts". We used to giggle over these things but in bed at night I would think of them and just wriggle a bit and "Pow!" this amazing thing would happen to me. I had no idea what it was.
When I got a boyfriend and we got into "petting" (boobs only at that stage) I could have that feeling spontaneously.
When I had my first sexual encounter I still hadn't put the two things together in my mind but suddenly the light went on and - duh - I realised that the feelings I had been having since I was little was what sex was all about.
Intercourse alone produced orgasms then but after I got married and had a large baby something seemed different, maybe the pelvic bones had moved somehow but it never seemed to be that easy any more.
And there I will leave it because most people find the thought of "old people" having sex is a real turn off so I am not saying any more.
Ceridwen 12-02-2005, 11:03 AM OK I have another question -
For those who experience vaginal orgasms, does the size of your partner make a difference?
Voice of reason 12-02-2005, 03:32 PM And there I will leave it because most people find the thought of "old people" having sex is a real turn off so I am not saying any more.
Not at all! Critique since we are all hurtling towards older age I'd be gutted to hear anything different! I'm planning on having a thoroughly debauched old age myself
I
Do any of you fake it when you don't come just to please your man?
I hope you don’t mine me joining in
Don't mind you joining in at all Cockney
And yes to answer your question I have faked it loads of time , but not with my current partner. And the reason why, is to get it over and done with becasue I wasn't enjoying it. Needles to say these weren't long term relatonships so I wasn't at the stage with the man in question where I could say you're not doing it for me, sometimes you just don't click, on these occasions you really are hoping that the bloke will finish before you do.
Now with my curent partner if it doesn't happen it's no big deal and I have no problem saying I haven't reached orgasm (He'd know anyway) this way I get to play with my toys as there is no way he gets to have one and not me!
I bet a lot of woman fake it when they're not in along term relatonship.
What I still want to know is - how do vaginal orgasms happen? Is there ANY clitoral stimulation involved, whether directly or indirectly? Do they "build" the same way as a clitoral orgasm? And which bit exactly is stimulated? Does it matter what position you're in? Do you have to "try" and have one or does it just happen naturally? Does it require practice?

I'm so glad this thread has got the  and hasn't casued offence, becasue it is very interseting and for Ceri's question alone.
Most women who are hetrosexual only know what they know about orgasms through their experiences of their own bodies.
Ceri when I say an orgasm through intercourse I mean (as voice said) an orgasm casued by stimulaton and pressure on the clitoris, you are not going to have this kind of orgasm if your partner is behind you (unless he is using his fingers too- or you are)
This type only happen (in my experience) if you are on top of him or he's on top of you. It's some part of him (pubic bone I think) that is rubbing against your clit, while he is inside.
Vaginal orgasms that people are referring to, well I guess (I'm not sure) they are G spot ones!
Dolores mentioned ejaculation, I think this is what a vaginal orgasms is. I've had these, but didn't really know that my G spot was involved (still aren't sure) but even if you don't ejaculate I'm guesing that G spot sex is what vaginla sex is all about. Isn't the nice sensation of sex all down to the G spot anyway, and someone came along a few years ago and gave it a fancy name and had us all looking for our G spots not knowing that we'd already found them.
Critique I know where you are coming from (exscuse me!) when you say about putting two and two together about orgasms years after you'd started having them. I experienced my first very young and used to tell all my friends (and anyone else who was interested) about this lovely feeling I used to get. I was quite shocked when I started having sex and I realised that that thing was my clitoris, sex education at school never mentoned this.
And if anyone is wondering about the option that no one has ticked about the toys on the willy, well I would have ticked it but another option was more frequent, but basically if you haven't reached the stage where you can have clit orgasms during intercourse I can recommend this way! Best if you go on top of him :)
It's interesting that so many of us have orgasms in our sleep, it just goes to show that the brain is indeed the biggest sex organ in the body and that erm...external stimulation is not an absolute requirement!
I've never had an orgasm in my sleep! how can this happen??? It can't just happen on its own surely? :w00t: Or do you mean you were being touched while asleep.
kookycat 13-02-2005, 12:07 PM yes i too am curious about these sleep orgasms, never had them, but often have had dreams where i get the pre-orgasm feelings then wake up just as im away to come. damn it eh!! usually get these sorta dreams when ive been a bit deprived and horny and this is usually at the end of a period.
ive also only ever had an orgasm with my current bf. all the others were a bit rough and didnt go out with them long enough to experiment.

Yep, all on it's own Bob, no touching involved at all :) It's really rather marvellous! I always wake up for the big moment though and just pressing my legs together whilst it happens is enough to make it a real event rather than just a feeling. I don't know what I am dreaming of when it happens but I sense it is sexual. As I said, it just shows the importance of the brain in these things.
Just found this surprising article in today's Times: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-1645171,00.html

Me too, Voicey. I know my dreams don't even have to be sexual, so don't know what "brings them on". Also a certain piece of gym equipment used to do it. The motion of holding myself up by my arms and pulling my knees up......... memories............ do do do do do do do.
“Women who orgasm too easily might be less good at selecting partners.” Have to disagree there, Professor Spector.
Thanks for resurrecting this thread, Dabby, I hadn't seen it before.
Bonsai 13-06-2005, 12:35 PM Just thought i would share that i had my 2nd 'whilst asleep' orgasm in my life last night .... and jolly good it was too :ninja:
Groucho 13-06-2005, 02:18 PM Was it a human or a canine oriented dream? :ninja:
Bonsai 13-06-2005, 02:52 PM Hmmmmm, i cant remember - but hope to god it wasnt anything to do with doggies
Good one dab resurrecting an important thread
But unless I talk to my parents in depth, and get them to take this poll, I won't know if the Biology letters journal is true :wink2:
WD Bosai!
I'm a tad jealous. I still can't believe that this is possible, but then it's never happened to me!
