" If you ever see a hearse go by and wonder what it'd be like to die
ooooooooohhhhh aaaaaaaaahhhhh how happy we would be
They put you in a big black box and then they cover you up with rocks
ooooooooohhhhh aaaaaaaaaahhhhh how happy we would be

The worms crawl in, the worms crawl out
They crawl in thin and they crawl out stout
oooooooohhhhh aaaaaaaaaahhhhhh how happy we would be

You eyes fall in, your teeth fall out
Your brains come tumbling down your snout
oooooooohhhhh aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh how happy we would be

a few guinesses and I would sing this. Any other songs from childhood?

"...seven tears are flowing through the rainbow, seven tears are flowing through the sea - if one day.......la la la la la la la la la.....(and so on and so forth)"

or perhaps....

"....night tonight, giving the order, giving the order - night tonight, oooooh-whoa...."

or if we're really desparate....

"what's tha madda you, hey!, gotta no respect. Why you lookin' so sad - itsa not sa bad, itsa nice-a place - ahhhh shuttuppa ya face!.....one more time ha? (no thanks mate!)"

or we could take it to Apocolyptic-type desparation.....

"....save your love my darling save your loooooooove..."

......or if you want someone to end their life, just sing Nana Miskouri.....that ought to do it......
:bye:

Going on holiday, all packed up in the car, the following song occured.....

"Oh we're off, we're off, we're off in a motor car,
Sixty bobbies are after us and we don't know where we are.
Oh we're off, we're off, we're off in a motor car,
Sixty bobbies are after us and we don't know where we are.

I was standing on a corner, eating an apple pie,
A policeman came and asked me the time and I poked him in the eye.

Oh we're off, we're off, we're off in a......."

yes, that one always gets me. It's not so much the words, it's the way he sings it and the fact that he's allowed to for such a long period of time.....

btw, I think all four of those songs I mentioned may have been on the same edition of top of the pops and it just hasn't been removed from my memory....

It has to be this little gem..........on a Friday assembly at Junior school we had mass (for the ones whos parents didnt take them mass on a sunday im sure!!!!) and hymn practice, all led by Fr. Paddy, so as a treat, if we did our hymns well, he would let us sing this....you can imagine what a reward this was for us :glare:

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.

And if you come, when all the flowers are dying
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.

And I shall hear, tho' soft you tread above me
And all my dreams will warm and sweeter be
If you'll not fail to tell me that you love me
I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.

I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.

sure do! - your own seems to be you haven't been able to figure out the old quoting business as of yet.......

At least the old quoting mishaps keep me laughing at myself. I don't know what went on there but those were your words, if I remember correctly, and not mine. I am no plagiarist (good word!)

My brother was always singing:

Daisy, daisy give me a tit to chew
I'm half crazy all for the love of you
I can't afford a carriage but a plastic bag will do
Cos you look sweet under a sheet with me on top of you!

or

Jesus Christ
Super Star
Went round the corner on a yamaha
Done a skid
Hit a kid
Cut his willy on a dustbin lid!

The school coach trip songs were:

She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes.....

or

There were 10 in the bed and the little one said roll over...roll over
so they all rolled over and one fell out
and the little one said with a great big shout
Please rememebr to tie a knot in your suspenders
Single beds are only made for 1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8..
9 in a bed...................

or

For he's a jolly good driver.........
