I was sent another chain mail yesterday. This one really annoyed me because it was rooted in the teachings of the Dalai Lama. At the end of some beautiful insights were the instructions to mail to x no of people (various groups) and that a karmic response from the universe would befall the sender depending on how many others were sent this mail.
Is it just me? I feel quite annoyed by the manipulation of mails like that. They contaminate great works (Dalai Lama) but they also play on superstition that something bad/good will happen if you obey. Where do you think these mails originate from? And what exactly is their point? I just don't get it.

I bin them......and guess what....
I'm alive and well....
My family are alive and well...
My friends are alive and well....
If they have an envelope for you to respond with I post it back using their envelope without a stamp....in the same way I do with any junk mail!
There's no depths to which the originators of these chain letters won't stoop tonee. There was an email chain letter a while back which was supposedly about a missing child, I can't remember the exact details, but they were blatantly manipulating people's emotions for no good reason.
Coastie has the right idea - if there's an address send it back without a stamp so they have to pay postage.

They annoy me as well, and I don't even read them. Most of my friends know better than to clutter up my inbox with such nonesense anyway, but if one get's through it's deleted ASAP :glare:

I thought this was gonna be some kind of rant abou thow chain mail can chaffe between the thighs. But alas it is about chain emails!
My friend used to pass them onto me from her churchy friend in Puerto Rico - cos she knew they pee'd me off. Some one day I responded by saying stop sending me this ****e - well it went all round the world well from Portsmouth to Connecticut to Puerto Rico and apparently upset quite a few people. Needless to say myself and my friend were deleted from the list - cos they were basically very nice people who didn't want to upset anyone! whatever - it stopped 'em coming so I say that was a result!
