Hey guys,

we're having a party soon and I have the task of selecting the tunes for the night so what I wanna know what are your top PERSONAL 5 floor fillers..the songs that make you wanna get up and shake your thaaaang. ....and of course why ??

you can choose anything guaranteed floor fillers/cool dance tunes/laid back chillout tunes/cheesy classics/ulimate rock/sexy RnB/ classic Indie etc...

I want lots of ideas as I am going to need about 100 songs!

My ones would be:

1. Love Shack - B52s (Ulimate dance floor filler)
2. Rock the Casbah - The Clash (The ultimate cool floor filler!)
3. What ya waiting for - Gwen Steffani (best dance song at the mo!)
4. I belive in you - Kylies new one that Scissors Sister wrote (best sexy dance song at the mo)
5. Fools Gold - Stone Roses (cause i used to dance madly to it at the teenage disco!!)

Get yourself an ipod mini Tonee, it's like having the best compilation CD in the whole world and you can burn your playlists onto a CD if you like :)

My choices would include anything salsa based, I love all that hip swinging latino stuff. Reggae is another thing I struggle to keep my feet still to.

1) The lambada (Kaoma)
2) Boom Shack a lack (Appache Indian)
3) I see you baby - Shakin' that ass (Groove Amada)
4) Trick me (Kelis)
5) Turn me on (Kevin Lyttle)

I copied these from my ipod music library, it's what I run to!

The one toon that always used to fill the floor without question (showing me age now) was Frankie's Relax.

I went into a bar in London (this is related) which was full of the city types, lots of murmurings etc. I put on 2 songs, Millenium by the Robster and then You can leave your hat on by Mr Jones. In the midst of these songs playing the atmospher suddenly changed, 1 guy jumped on the bar and did a full striptease. That was a memorable 6 mins! So both these songs are good for getting the crowd going....

The 2 guaranteed to get me up on the dance floor are........

Insomnia - Faithless and See the Trouble with Me - Black Legend.......

Others would include Little Fluffy Clouds - The Orb, anything by William Orbit, Robert Miles, The Chemical Brothers, Leftfield or Faithless......

But I have also been known to shake my ass to Relight My Fire - Take That & Lulu

when I read your post, it reminded me of a party we ended up at a few years ago, in a little village (think hill billy and dodgy DNA)) community centre, where it was the cheesy school disco DJ and Steps was the hippest dance music he had, so we got on with it, and at one point we were jumping off the bar and crowd surfing to Tragedy:blush::laugh:
