Oh that's really sad. So young.
I've still got my version of Question of Sport with Emlyn, Bill Beaumont and David Coleman on the front of the box.

Oh my goodness, what shocking news! I had no idea he had a brain tumor. He was a brilliant player in the days when football players were just that...football players.
I remember him on QOS with Gareth Edwards (before Bill Beaumont replaced him), they were really good together.

That is how I will remember Emlyn Hughes - he was always the dippy, funny one - I always loved him, a sweet and funny man.

He was unashamedly a male chauvanistic kind of guy! I remember him telling story where he thought the microwave was the TV set in the kitchen! And you sense he ain't kidding!
yeh for me Emlyn is Mr Question Of Sport!
I used to love him on Question of Sport and haven't watched it since he left!
I used to enjoy watching him play football as well - a great character! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/smilies/character27.gif

Oh, he was a male chauvanist Dol, he clearly thought that the women's place was in the home, but he did have a happy marriage, so I guess his wife agreed.
He was still great fun though and a wicked laugh!

I was really sad when I heard this news. His time at Q of S always reminds me of my dad - who couldn't stand him ! which of course made him appeal even more to me and me Ma. Emyln on the picture round/mystery guest always used to struggle with whether the star in question was male or female, big bonus points for shoulder/bear hugging/laddishly slapping princess anne .. and squeaking "I know it, I know it" when he never did.
Very sad.
