View Full Version : Would you prefer to see the back of Woodstock on this forum - Self Indulgence Part II
Woodstock 27-01-2005, 10:02 PM I've been mischievous and spoken of not much but nonsense. I've been serious (as much as I try to avoid all manner of things associated with this word.....for sanity's sake) and sometimes touched and moved by other members' posts. But - have I outstayed "my welcome" here on this wonderful forum??.......cast your vote....yay or nay? :)
It pains me to have to say nay!
So although the forum might be trying to tell you something by nicking all your utilities, I don't think you have outstayed 'your welcome' - well not yet anyway
Woodstock 27-01-2005, 11:57 PM It pains me to have to say nay!
it pains me to have to say "sorry for my self-indulgence".....
Coastie 28-01-2005, 03:20 AM Don't leave until someone calls you a giant mushroom, that's what I always say!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Stay and play with me :bye:
Kittencat 28-01-2005, 06:39 AM Nooooo!
I haven't spoken to you much but I like ya! :D
Please stay.
It looks like the girlies want you to stay, Woodstock :wink2:
Woodstock 28-01-2005, 08:23 AM Don't leave until someone calls you a giant mushroom, that's what I always say!
But is there mush-room left here for a mischief like me??
I'd certainly leave if someone called me a toadstool - we'll just have to wait and see....anyway the poll's looking favourable......xxxx
Woodstock 28-01-2005, 08:25 AM NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Stay and play with me :bye:
refuse an offer like that? - not on your nelly!:)
Out of curiosity, anyone know what a nelly actually is???
Cockney 28-01-2005, 08:27 AM I like you mate I just wish your posts where not so long, sometime's I don't have time to read the book so I just want the readers digest version
Cockney 28-01-2005, 08:28 AM refuse an offer like that? - not on your nelly!:)

Woodstock 28-01-2005, 08:31 AM It looks like the girlies want you to stay, Woodstock :wink2:
looks that way......hope your cage wasn't rattled too much last night...:(
Is it possible that someone has the power or ill-will to remove my utilities here, or is it more likely that I've tampered with a setting somewhere along the way? I so desparately want them all back - I don't ask for much.....(and yes, I have tried the enhanced option - in fact I've been back and forth repeatedly in the vain hope that my pc will stop playing silly beggars with me....no dice....)
hope your cage wasn't rattled too much last night...:(
I quite like my cage being rattled :wink2:
Woodstock 28-01-2005, 08:40 AM the sme as Jessie
....I had a sneaking feeling the solution would be provided by a good ol' cockney....
'Tom Hanks' mate, I feel like a right old 'Willy Wonka' for not knowing that....time for me to hit the 'Roger Black', ruffle up the old "Wind in the Willows" and get some 'Bo-Peep'
How's that?.....:)
......but what's a Jessie?.....
Woodstock 28-01-2005, 08:42 AM I quite like my cage being rattled :wink2:
lol, where did you spring from??
you must have a Woodstock-is-on-the-loose alarm system installed somewhere close to your pc.......:)
....I quite like rattling cages.....(a good pair we'd make....);)
Woodstock 28-01-2005, 08:45 AM Nooooo!
I haven't spoken to you much but I like ya! :D
Please stay.
well it's funny you should say.....'cos the less people speak to me, the more they like me....(or so it seems)
lol, where did you spring from??
I've been here quite a while :wink2:
you must have a Woodstock-is-on-the-loose alarm system installed somewhere close to your pc.......:)
Now you're getting cocky :wink2:
Kittencat 28-01-2005, 08:57 AM well it's funny you should say.....'cos the less people speak to me, the more they like me....(or so it seems)
Well, seeing as you seem to be my cyber-twin, it's unlikely. ;)
(PM coming later, bit busy on the phones):)
Woodstock 28-01-2005, 08:57 AM I like you mate I just wish your posts where not so long, sometime's I don't have time to read the book so I just want the readers digest version
Well, we both wish for the same thing - except I just can't stop myself waffling on....I do have a waffle-therapist named "Eternity" on the forum, but it appears she's abandoned all hope for me.....:(
Look at my rambling-on as being something akin to a day out sea-fishing. The larger your net, the more likely you are to catch the fish. So, logic has it (mine does anyway!) that the longer your post, the more likely it is that the reader will find something to relate to.......either that or they'll just move on to a more eye-friendly post......(I'll go with the latter)
Woodstock 28-01-2005, 08:58 AM Now you're getting cocky :wink2:
......what was it I was saying about your subconscious mind?.....;)
Woodstock 28-01-2005, 09:00 AM Well, seeing as you seem to be my cyber-twin, it's unlikely. ;)
(PM coming later, bit busy on the phones):)
....I'm sorry? - did you say "Prime Minister is coming later, busy on the phone??" - I could have swore you said that.......
Kittencat 28-01-2005, 09:04 AM Yes, he's promised to drop in and have a look.
I told him to leave Cherie at home, though, don't want the natives getting scared.
......what was it I was saying about your subconscious mind?.....;)
I think it says more about your subconscious mind than mine :wink2:
Andrea 28-01-2005, 09:38 AM Hey Woodstock, I wouldn't worry, I've been outstaying my welcome since the day I came on here and they still talk to me.
Woodstock 28-01-2005, 10:00 AM I think it says more about your subconscious mind than mine :wink2:
....damn! - I've no comeback for that one (only 'cos my eyelids are dropping though.....and my mind feels like a Robin Reliant with a tyre-puncture)
.......I'll sleep on it...
.......I'll sleep on it...
Now don't you go squashing it, will you?
Woodstock 28-01-2005, 10:42 AM Now don't you go squashing it, will you?
....more likely to squash me.....;)
well you have certainly kept me amused......:D so I think you should stay....but I aint beggin ya!!!
....more likely to squash me.....;)
Now that is worrying
claire 28-01-2005, 02:30 PM Stay woodie!! Please stay!!
karenh 28-01-2005, 09:56 PM Hey Woodstock - stick around. You make me laff! I've voted for you to "stay".
But, I have to say.....this thread is the most transparent fishing thread I've seen for a while. How to net a compliment in one easy post!
But, why does it bother you if we want you here or not? Its all about whether or not YOU want to stay, surely!
My motto - post what you like as long as you feel like posting! People will either like you for it, or they won't. If they don't, that's their problem. If they do, well, yippedydoo!

LOL Karen, I'm sure Woody has netted some real whoppers with this one.
I haven't voted yet but Woody is only guaranteed a positive vote if he starts a 'Nox is a wonderful person - debate' thread
Woodstock 29-01-2005, 06:44 PM I can't believe some of you guys - I apologized for my self-indulgence already (post No.3)
However keep the nice ones coming......:boxing:

Woodstock 30-01-2005, 02:18 AM WHAT would you have done if everyone said ahhh **** off you big gobs*te??????
....I'd have cast you all a downtrodden look, a little like this ----> .....and then muttered under my breath the following....."Gobs**te requires two asterisks, not one!"......and with that, would have continued on my merry little way....

Sex-Scrabble is good too. If you manage to remove all your tiles in one turn, the opponent/s (would have to be female in my case..) has to remove all her/their attire. I've yet to finish a game of this type for reasons that ought to manifest as obvious.....but I've always been on top!...:wink2:

Be advised that this is a public poll: other users can see the choice(s) you selected.

You are right Pandora , it's always has been available on this forum but I don't think the previous forums had that facility ...
Minklemar 31-01-2005, 06:00 PM Stay another day!! The more the merrier.
As for this from another thread.....
???....what's a Minklemar, Minklemar? - anything to do with "Heffalumps and Woozles and if you so choozles", at all??
Minklemars are very rare and need to be treated with kindness at all times, and when possible supplied with marshmallows! They are on occasion known as Stinky Minkys!
So - now you know
Dolores 31-01-2005, 06:13 PM I feel guilty now that Woodstock can read my reply! ..... oh well he'll get over it! right after he gets over himself! j/k!

Thanks for enlightening me, and thanks for voting, and thanks yet again for your far-too-kind words. That goes for all who voted regardless of the direction you went. It was always intended as a tongue-in-cheek poll and I think one or two of you took it far too seriously - moreso than I ever had. For those who are in the dark, it was a joke response to a joke swipe issued during an exchange in posts by myself and ILS. It smacked of self-indulgence in the extreme, and to some it appeared notoriously so - not my intention..... :bye:

survivorfan 04-02-2005, 05:23 PM No U-turn for me on this one!
Ceridwen 04-02-2005, 05:30 PM I maintain my original position.
Kittencat 04-02-2005, 05:34 PM Well, I'm going to stick with my original 'nay' as I have quite a lot of fun with him.
:D
Dolores 04-02-2005, 05:37 PM I'm going for my original choice as I feel like I'm in good company!
....but I wouldnt want W to be offended, cos he is indeed a character, and I for one like that in a person!!!!!
eh! but I'm contrary aint I!
Ceridwen 04-02-2005, 05:45 PM I am sick and tired of long, turgid, meaningless posts written in ridiculously large print and bold type being splashed across the screen - I cannot see the need and it detracts from the rest of the thread.
I also thought the ridiculous comment made in Bonnie's thread about the death of her cat shows a total lack of respect and/or consideration.
The attack on Morph was wholly personal and unwarranted, despite the "I'm not posting this to have a go at Morph" claim...if not, why make a thread that states it's because you think the sentiment in her signature is ridiculous?
And finally, I object to the whole of this MB being referred to as "sheep". When you have to resort to such childish generalisations to make your point, you tend to lose your audience.
I have missed something havn't I.

Dolores 04-02-2005, 05:59 PM by golly so have I!
I must pop into the posts in "aving a laugh" cos they are about the only ones I don't read!
Also Morph is my PC guru and that alone places her on a very very high pedestal!
.....and Bonnie's cat is an angel now and need not worry about spiteful comments!
edit ... didn't think Woodstocks comments spiteful ...a touch insensitive, but he is basically a newbie who should be excused his comments to Minklemar as being off topic.
Ceridwen 04-02-2005, 06:29 PM I didn't say his comments were spiteful, I said they were ridiculous.
If he actually spent more time reading other people's posts before rushing to post his own opinion, he wouldn't have this problem.
I am sorry but if I had been in Bonnie's position I would have been very hurt by such a stupid remark when I was going through that pain.
Dolores 04-02-2005, 06:34 PM I didn't say his comments were spiteful, I said they were ridiculous.
whoops Ceri - my mistake - i just automatically assumed if the comments weren't helpful they must have been spiteful. But on re-reading the thread I just thought they were insensitive ... (as stated in my edit of my thread).
Ceridwen 04-02-2005, 06:45 PM Insensitive is pretty much what I thought too, Dol. So we're two bald men arguing over a comb!
Dolores 04-02-2005, 06:48 PM Insensitive is pretty much what I thought too, Dol. So we're two bald men arguing over a comb!

back to topic:
I think Woodstock's a ****** because........

?? - It was a genuine heartfelt gesture as I lost my little pooch friend of 13 years last New Years Day. Oh, and sorry about the bold type.....S.M.F.
Pandora 04-02-2005, 11:00 PM Well, I'm going to stick with my original 'nay' as I have quite a lot of fun with him.
:D I reckon we've missed somethin' here too ......
Woodstock 05-02-2005, 05:52 AM I am sorry but if I had been in Bonnie's position I would have been very hurt by such a stupid remark when I was going through that pain.could someone actually tell me who the heck Bonnie is? - 'cos I really haven't a clue......I remember once saying in a post to a certain Lyndsey, that "I'm sorry to hear about your cat" - how the ****** is this deemed to be insensitive?? ('cos I'd really like to know...)
...and what is this anyway?? - have I upset someone somewhere down the line?? All I've done is form an opinion about a phrase. Now why all of a sudden are you all turning on me??
Woodstock 05-02-2005, 06:29 AM ....like a pack of ravenous wolves - enough of it already!! we'll agree to differ. If I'd have known it would have come to this I'd have not said a word. I'm surprised at just how over the top some of these reactions really are, and some of the comments have been quite bloody hurtful if I'm honest with you. Do you honestly think I'd be so lacking in thought to make a joke remark about someone's deceased cat? - shame on you for interpreting it the wrong way.
Can we just leave it now.
Ceridwen 05-02-2005, 09:46 AM So this is your idea of extending sympathy is it?
???....what's a Minklemar, Minklemar? - anything to do with "Heffalumps and Woozles and if you so choozles", at all??
I will certainly NOT leave it here, because you very clearly don't know what you are talking about! You claim you didn't say anything stupid in the thread, and actually expressed your sympathy, when in fact what you said is printed clearly above! And you also claim to have extended sympathy about Bonnie's cat when you don't even know who she is!
And then you wonder why your efforts are not appreciated...like I said, perhaps you should take a bit more time to consider what you are doing, before you do it!
Ceridwen 05-02-2005, 09:56 AM have I upset someone somewhere down the line??
Yes- Morph.
As I have said in previous posts Woodstalk, IN YOUR OPINION!!, now leave it be, did noone ever tell you "If you've nothing nice to say, don't say anything"
"saying something that I felt needed to be said"
Why did it NEED to be said? Like I said to you before, if you don't like just ignore it - Simple really!!
Now I am really getting fed up of hearing you slate my signature :ranting:
"Maintain your own moral standards, but show respect and consideration for other peoples opinions and differences".
So where is your respect and consideration for MY opinion?
And then:
I was allowing it to lie, but Buzz began hovering and awoke the issue once more. Nice to see everyone thus far is wrong.....but your all looking cute huddled up together in that pasture......:) [/left]
Thanks for calling us all sheep because we don't agree with you!
And you have to ask why people are getting fed up?
I think that we need to explain that the SO mb isnt just any old forum, its a community, to me it is an extention of my social life, this is a gang of my mates, who I laugh with, get sad with, rip the pee out of (and have it ripped out of me back:angry:  ), argue with, you name it we do it - we are friends :D
most of the "older" (NOT AGE before you all start moaning :p ) members actually meet up regularly and so do in fact "know" each other........
We always love it when there is a new reality show on as we get new members join us, and its always great to have some new blood.......but because we are a community of friends, we can get protective over each other, especially if we know that one of us is a bit down.
having now read your posts Woody, you were a little insensitive towards Bon, but as you dont really know us all that well yet, its a forgivable one im sure :wink2:
Woodstock 05-02-2005, 01:55 PM ....who is Bon?? (never even seen a Bon around the forum)
And I've stressed probably a thousand times already i think (and it's becoming tedious now) that I was extending my commiserations about this persons cat (it was in fact, Lyndsey if you want to get your facts right)
Also, what on earth is wrong with asking Minklemar a question like that - are you out of your fecking mind you pompous prick! - I couldn't think of a more light -hearted harmless question. You don't know me and you obviously can't get to grips with my sense of humour so just shut the **** up and leave me be. You're an opinionated little sh*t yourself Ceridwen.

...smacks of cliquishness to me Queenie.... my only aim is to come on to the forum and hopefully make people laugh or at the very least smile. It appears one or two of your clique are so desparate for anti-me material that they're picking up on the most harmless of examples now (my jokey little question to Minklemar serves as one - I simply wanted to know what Minklemar meant ffs)
Kittencat 05-02-2005, 02:08 PM Woody, it seems you need a little support here, so
Remember what I said to you this morning...?

Before you resort to foul language and abuse, you clearly don't even know what I'm talking about do you? And why? Because you STILL haven't bothered to read the thread in question, just like you didn't read it when you posted your stupid comment about Minklemar.
As you clearly aren't capable of reading this for yourself, I shall do the hard work for you, shall I?
Try looking in the Coffee Lounge at a thread called "My darling Brucie cat". The person who started the thread was Bonsai. It was a horrible thread about a terrible experience, and you posted your inane comment about Minkelmar in it, in a totally inappropriate fashion. Lyndsay was not involved.
If you ever stopped for one moment, and considered what people were trying to tell you, you would realise how totally, utterly ridiculous you look.
Find the thread and see what you did for yourself, before banging on about someone called Lyndsay!
And finally, if you had half a brain, you would realise I am a woman, not a man.
maxine 05-02-2005, 04:12 PM Stay, and weather the storm, Woodstock. :)
Well, Woodstock, I've been away for a few days and missed most of this. I've caught up on events now, and feel qualified to vote. I voted yes. Actually, had there been an option for "I don't really care whether you stay or go but whatever you do I wish you would do it quietly!"... that's where my click would belong.
I'm not going to kick a man when he's down. But if you get up and start gobbing off at me I'll (virtually) deck you, okay?
That's my way of saying, if you're staying you'd be well advised to listen to others more and be less eager to spout aggressive-defensive rubbish so often. This place is not cliquey. It's simply not. And I'd be surprised if anyone started off determined to pick on you. But you just kept going and going with the self defence, refusing to acknowledge the fact that maybe, just maybe, someone else might have had a point, until it was inevitable that people were going to start slapping you.
My twopence, for what it's worth.
tigger 05-02-2005, 04:36 PM I'll echo what Maxine has says, hang in there, maybe you could be a little more sensitive, but hang onto that knot.
Ceridwen 05-02-2005, 04:39 PM I think dab put exactly what I was thinking, extremely eloquently.
There is plenty of room here for people to express opinions - but at least be big enough to admit when you have made a mistake.
Haydon 05-02-2005, 05:01 PM LISTEN UP FOLKS - it's obvious that some people's emotions are running high, however that does not mean you can break the forum rules. The rules quite clearly state no foul or abusive language (and this includes trying to get around the swear filter).
If you do use foul or abusive language you will be banned for a specific period. I've let a few slip through recently - but no more please.

really Cat, please stay on topic, or I will have to report you!
Woodstock 06-02-2005, 08:43 AM Try looking in the Coffee Lounge at a thread called "My darling Brucie cat". The person who started the thread was Bonsai. It was a horrible thread about a terrible experience, and you posted your inane comment about Minkelmar in it, in a totally inappropriate fashion. Lyndsay was not involved.
Ceridwen, my humourless forum-friend, I just had a little look through the Lounge and couldn't spot this thread you mentioned. I'll have another look, and if I find the post in question, and it's as insensitive as you make it out to be I'll apologize to whoever it is I've offended. But I have no recollection of this whatsoever.
You must have a brown tongue by now Dab.....:bye:
Woodstock 06-02-2005, 08:59 AM yep - just found it, Ceridwen the Humourless - looking back, yes I could have tabled the question to Minklemar on a more appropriate thread. But, there was no malice or hurt intended toward Bonsai....none whatsoever. It's more than likely I wasn't aware at that moment of which thread I was on as I was fairly new to the game and was still feeling my way around. I'd never deliberately try to hurt anybody's feelings. So, is that it - is that what I'm up for conviction for? (I still see no comment made about a cat....this would prove to be useful evidence in stating your case.....can my defence team see this evidence?)
Seems to me that you and a few others are just a bunch of nasty so-and-so's yourselves and are looking for the mildest, most pathetic excuse to let off a little of your steam.......
So when you consider this, along with the fact that I wasn't having a go directly at our friend Morph herself, then I haven't really been as sinful as you and your band of merry (ho ho ho) men make out.
Bonsai, I'm not above making apologies, and if I did upset you, regardless of my ignorance to thread-appropriation, I'm truly sorry, and you yourself should have said something.
I have no further comments/replies to submit on this issue. It's case closed as far as I'm concerned. Let's shake hands and have done with it.....yaaaawn...
survivorfan 06-02-2005, 09:01 AM Oh ****** off!
Dolores 06-02-2005, 09:03 AM Oh ****** off!
how come one can "******" on the forum but not "****"??
survivorfan 06-02-2005, 09:12 AM how come one can "******" on the forum but not "****"??
I think it's Haydon's new liberal management style, he's trying not to appear homophobic.
Woodstock 06-02-2005, 09:15 AM ....is there an echo?? - that's the second time I've heard that cluster of words now....
I think its time we all "cooled our jets" isnt it :glare: ......... theres no need to all fall out is there
Dolores 06-02-2005, 09:22 AM I think its time we all "cooled our jets" isnt it :glare: ......... theres no need to all fall out is there
I'm sorry Queeenie, cos I'm sure you are being firm handed and strict here ...... but "cooled our jets" had me rolling about laughing!!!! :D I could just imagine my grandad using that expression.
..... I also have to add that it will be one of my expressions from now on!!! I'm just going to calm my son and his friend down and will use aforementioned expression on them! I will tell you the results later!!!

Hey - at least a post on this thread raised a smile for someone.........
come on Woody.......Wind yer neck in and have some fun!!!!!
Woodstock 06-02-2005, 09:28 AM I just received by mail order a selection of scented tubs of Ceridwen Immunity Cream....just need someone to massage it around my dazed head for me....
Give it a rest Woody ...........
You must have a brown tongue by now Dab.....:bye:
Were you to insult me to my face I would rip one of your limbs off and beat you gently around the head with the soggy end. But since this is the Internet I will treat your childish rudeness with the contempt it deserves.
Your issues, Woodstock, are not my issues. I'm off to investigate the "ignore" function. Never thought I'd need a function like that here, but there we are.
edit: Done.
Dolores 06-02-2005, 10:49 AM I'd actually liked to see this thread locked.
Woodstock 06-02-2005, 10:50 AM frosty little eejit! I don't really have any seconds to spare for your type either....go and clean your tongue now...
I'd actually liked to see this thread locked.
Me too please. Any MOD just end this now......please
Woodstock 06-02-2005, 12:40 PM I've requested a truce. I'd be happy to resume from where we left off before I criticized my good friend Morph's signature. I think this all got a little out of hand when someone decided to make a poll out of the whole issue. Not my asking, not theirs (Ceridwen, Dab etc) either. I don't think the poll-creator realized the damage that would ensue and so they can't be blamed either. I call for a truce, so Ceridwen, Dab, anyone else - just say agreed and it's all water under the bridge. I've made my own personal apologies to those whom I may have upset for whatever reason so I don't see the necessity for this to go much further than it already has done.
Andrea 06-02-2005, 01:08 PM Ok guys, enough is enough.
Haydon has already given warning, so please no more abusive language.
And Woodstock, please don't apologise and then name call someone else, causing further unrest.
This thread is closed.
Woodstock 14-03-2005, 09:56 PM Well.........what say you?? (tongue-in-cheek of course......wouldn't have it any other way.....)
....."oh nooo!! - 'eees only gone n' dunnit!!......"

Sorry, I voted "yay" simply because you've already done a thread like this :wink2:
Pandora 14-03-2005, 11:29 PM Tongue in cheek or no, Woody, to my mind you are still fishing for compliments and I refuse to vote for that reason alone. So ner :wink2:
Dolores 15-03-2005, 06:52 AM why do you do it Woodstock? why?
karenh 15-03-2005, 07:01 AM Hmmmm, I'm sure you started this thread to be funny and not to deliberately wind anyone up..........
Coastie 15-03-2005, 07:15 AM It's a bit of fun.....and although I would say stay if ya wanna or go if ya wanna I am happy as long as we still have this smilie :pooh: and this one :fireman:
Sorry can't be bothered to vote...do what you like....... :bored: :bored:
survivorfan 15-03-2005, 07:28 AM What's up, not getting enough attention?
floopy 15-03-2005, 07:41 AM I voted yay, cos you seem to want a stick to beat yourself with.
It's like a self-fulfilling prophecy, I dont think they like me, so I'll keep annoying them till eventually they really don't like me, then I'll be proved right.
Where does it get you, in the end?
I am with majority here Woody, in terms of voting and in terms of you staying or going. I do not want anyone to leave, including you. But the choice is always yours and yours alone.
One of my philosophies in life is 'you alone are responsible for your own happiness'. And I think if you are happy here then stay. No-one else here can make you happy if you are not happy to start with.
:)
survivorfan 15-03-2005, 08:51 AM Now, what I'm wondering is whether the kind of replies that are likely to be attracted by this the second thread on the same subject, will lead Tonee to start a second thread on internet bullying?
Groucho 15-03-2005, 09:51 AM Nice rug! :wink2:
claire 15-03-2005, 09:54 AM Come on, lets be nice, please??
Ceridwen 15-03-2005, 09:57 AM What is this obsession with "being nice"? This is a public forum - I think everyone has a right to express their opinion, whether it be "nice" or not, surely?
Groucho 15-03-2005, 09:59 AM I dont believe Woodstock started this tedious thread with a view to people being nice to him!
I think it's what old floppy said:
a self-fulfilling prophecy, I dont think they like me, so I'll keep annoying them till eventually they really don't like me, then I'll be proved right
He was hardly going to find the responses had turned 180 degrees from his first tedious thread, was he?
claire 15-03-2005, 10:12 AM What is this obsession with "being nice"? This is a public forum - I think everyone has a right to express their opinion, whether it be "nice" or not, surely?
Yes you may be right Ceri... I just feel all this negative energy when people are having it out... I'll let you guys get on, it is a public forum and none of my beeswax I suppose!!
*retreats to her little friendly corner* lol :angel_not
floopy 15-03-2005, 10:21 AM I dont think there is any "having it out", nobody's arguing.
Woody has asked people to give their opinions of him, people have done so. It's not nasty or mean to reply to a direct question with the truth.
Woody's a grown adult and I'm sure he's not going to burst into tears if not everybody wants to be his best friend.
I couldnt give a flying f*** to be honest, all you ever seem to do is demand attention, you are unable to take honest advice from other members without taking it personally and then insulting whoever has given it, you ask for opinions and then when they are not what you were hoping for, you get the hump, and lash out verbally with the insults again.......I find this a tad bit immature and playground like personally.......
I had a friend at infant school that used to threaten to go home or not be my friend if she didnt get her own way, the day I had enough and told her to go, was the day I stopped being bullied and intimidated by her and her face was a picture, we remained friends till we left secondary school, but then I realised how different we were as people!
I find needy, clingy, insecure people very unattractive myself, and frankly Woody me old fruit, thats what you are starting to look like to me!
Chippy, just relax and enjoy the ride. There's no doubt in mind that you write very well and start some interesting subjects, alas I don't think this is one of them. Use those creative juices, and sharp wit to bond with the peeps on the forum not fight with them. Go on, you know you can do it.
IMO threads like this are bound to get people's backs up and aren't honestly going to do anything for you overall popularity and you must know that.
The thread you started a couple of months ago, which could have easily have been found and added to, already covers this subject so I'm going to merge them - as soon as I find the merge button!
survivorfan 15-03-2005, 02:46 PM Can we close the thread now while the voting's 2:1 in favour of him going?
Cockney 15-03-2005, 02:49 PM Hang on i havent voted yet
Cockney 15-03-2005, 02:49 PM thats better
survivorfan 15-03-2005, 02:51 PM We've had 10 votes that must be a good cross section.
Bella 15-03-2005, 03:27 PM Crikey, I can't believe I have just read through 15 pages of whether or not Woody stays or not! Woody, it really doesn't bother me one way or another whether you stay or not, but what I will say is this. Just because someone has made comments that you aren't what you want to hear, it does not give you cause to being rude towards them. And just because Ceridwen does not seem to appear to "understand" your humour, does not give you the right to call her humourless!! I think the majority of the board will disagree with you on that one, as Ceri has had quite a few funny posts and one thing I would not call her is humourless!!!!
Dab - I do love a masterful man, and I must remind myself, never, ever to get on the wrong side of you! :)
To be honest Woody, I can't really understand why you started a thread like this in the first place, and yes it does stink of self-indulgence, something I don't really like in a person.
Im just a bit gutted that the poll is private so I cant see who voted what - a little more self indulgence I guess, on Woodys part :w00t:
Are you going to make up a "hate list" of those who didnt vote the way you wanted them to :naughty:
You need to chill a bit Woody, and post some funny threads like you used to, and remember, you cant demand respect, its something you earn by being respectful to others....friendship, be it in RL or in Cyberspace, is a 2 way thing!
The poster made a personal attack on another poster, therefore this post has been deleted.
survivorfan 16-03-2005, 07:14 AM Can I just say I agree with the last poster, whatever it was he said.
Tigereye 16-03-2005, 10:24 AM So, some people on this forum think that being more honest and less nicey nicey is the way to go?
ok then. Woodstock. I think you are an annoying little man. Get over yourself and sod off to another forum where your kind of snide comments and sarcastic non-productive rubbishy self-obsessive narcissistic nonsense may appeal to others of a similar ilk.
.
How did I do?!!!:ninja:

Woodstock 16-03-2005, 11:39 AM Thanks everybody for responding - positively or negatively.....it really doesn't matter which. I read the first few posts when i started the thread and have just left it with you since so I'm not really aware of the nature or content of the majority of the posts - it was never for my benefit. That, i think, is the whole point. It is a magnet through which people can discuss, express opinion, exchange views, slag off, or praise...
"Woodstock" is just a pseudonym - an alter-ego. Woodstock is not me, the person I am. Nor is Buzz, Buzz, or for that matter Cat, Cat. Pandora is not Pandora, and I hope Hugh Jaas doesn't really have a huge ass - but we never can tell.
The whole point is, that we all come on here, select the arrows from our quivers of anonymity, take aim, and release them toward their target - this being the threads we choose to visit.
I've noticed since joining, that we all have our own preferred topics. I love movies, so I enjoy visiting the Film section of the forum, every so often. Occasionally I'm not in the mood to type much so I prefer to visit the Games section and join in with that. But we seldom come together as a forum group on any one particular topic, and as i noticed when i put up the first instalment of the "Would you like to see the back of......", that members of the forum suddenly came out in their numbers, as a whole, to make their own contribution on that one particular issue - which i found very interesting.
......I was never intending to go.:)
However, sometimes things become very involved when you access an anonymous meeting ground such as this, and comments can be made, which we may later wish to retract - not always possible (and usually the time limit to do so has ceased before we can take advantage of that opportunity....so there it remains, a comment you may, in hindsight, have wished you had not made.
I shall not be taking the time to look back on this latest "Would you like to see the back of......", and all the contributions made. Instead, I am planning to return to the forum when a new reality series kicks off once more, which if I'm not mistaken shall be I'm a Celebrity GMOOH - the reason i happened upon this forum in the first place. Pure chance.
But I've absolutley enjoyed the banter, and discussion, and exchanges with everyone here. You're a fabulous bunch of people. If you were not, i wouldn't have spent the last twelve weeks or so practically glued to my monitor. But as I'm sure is the case for most of us - there are other things to be getting on with.
Just before I leave, I would like to thank chief Haydon for creating such a fantastic playground of thought. It is the only forum i have ever been a member of, yet i cannot see how it could be emulated, let alone surpassed. You've done an amazing job with this Hayd.
PS: special mention for ils, Pandora, and Cat - the former is possibly the most liked member of the forum, and deservedly so. I think it is wonderful that someone is prepared to go out of their way to bring people together, by organizing events such as the occasional Meets you have (a gathering which unfortunately I am far too shy and self-wary to attend), and the latter two have just made me laugh from the beginning.
KC too - you became a good friend, and not forgetting tonee either - the forum's resident "shrink"........................gosh this is beginning to feel like an Oscar's Ceremony......
Coastie (get that awful flaw on your name title sorted!!)......and...."good luck with the book...." (best uttered in an Irish accent - with Father Ted in mind.:)
and everyone else whose names i have not mentioned (far too fecking many of ya - are we 2047 now or something??)
......so finally it comes down to Claire........but sadly i cannot say why (you all have imaginations anyway). But i hope it works out for you. You're a gorgeous woman , and i think you deserve better treatment. Balls in your court "Hugh Jaas"......
I am already looking forward to returning, so i can provoke, evoke, and laugh and cry some more. Cheerio.

Woodstock" is just a pseudonym - an alter-ego. Woodstock is not me
So you sat down and worked out a character for yourself? That's really interesting. Did you keep that up when you were PM'ing people?
If there's one thing I detest, it's people who can't be honest with themselves. There really is no hope for a person at all, who cannot admit to their own true motivations in life.
PS. And of course some people self destruct deliberately. Self destruction is a wonderful way to attract attention, especially sympathy from the poor misguided souls who want to be needed and don't want to see how devious and manipulative such behaviour REALLY IS.
Thanks everybody for responding - positively or negatively.....it really doesn't matter which. I read the first few posts when i started the thread and have just left it with you since so I'm not really aware of the nature or content of the majority of the posts - it was never for my benefit. That, i think, is the whole point.
So why spam our lovely message board with your inane drivel about "should I stay or should I go".........if its not for your benefit???? That would be like me starting a thread asking for an opinion on something, say how to cook something, then when everyone has taken the time and effort to post, to say, well, im not really interested anyway, its not for my benefit!!! what a load of b*ll*x!!!!
I hope that you take your time away from SO to do some reflecting and soul searching, because deep down, I dont think you are a bad person Woody, a little confused and insecure (jeeeeze, we have all been there at SOME point havent we!?) and quite frankly, I dont think you have conducted yourself very well at all..........your posts smack of double standards and hypocricy as far as I can see......and I have taken offence on more than one occasion at comments you have made to other members.....which I felt were callous and unneccessary!!!!
If you cant take the crap then dont dish it out hun!
Zzzzzzzzzzz
