I often mention that I’m a member of a few Internet groups to friends, family and work colleagues. One of the guys at work is always asking me about it and occasionally asks which site it is. I’m member of a multiply group so tell him it’s invite only, but told him all about the survivor site and how folk meet up and all about my pet Twinkie etc he thinks I’m incredibly sad! :wacko:

Anyway he asked me the other day what the address for SO was and while I should be drumming up business I found myself reluctant to give it to him! I don’t really want him knowing exactly how I prefer my bikini line and for that matter I’d be mortified if any of my family were to discover what my taste in marital aids was :bag: or if my boss were to learn that I’m considering reporting the company.:w00t:

So who do you keep it quiet from? Or are you more sensible than to post delicate matters!

People are aware I post on sites but only people I think can share and enjoy are given the address - thats one to date. Most people just don't understand and I am quite often issued with warnings.."oh be carefull, those internet site can be dangerous you know".

my family all know i visit and obviously Maxine is my sister and she's here! But I really wouldn't want any of my friends or colleagues to know - they'd just think I was sad! ...I know this cos I used to think people on the internet were sad losers too!

When I talk about SO, most people aren't the faintest bit interested or like Cat issue me with dire warnings of serial killers and perverts.

I've never given the url of this site to anyone other than one or two previous online friends because if I wanted to tell RL mates something I would, rather than have them read about it here. I didn't get as far as joining in the bikini line thread, but if I did I'd like to think it was private, as in only viewed by the hundreds of people that visit this site every day. :wacko:

i've actually told my dad about this site :shocking: and I'm sure he's had a quick peek, but it's not really his thing.

I tell my mates about this place, and my close mates I would and have told them the url. I'm not fussed about them reading what I put on here, because I don't think I say stuff on here that I wouldn't in rl.

Yet my best mate, although connected to the internet isn't really fussed about this sort of stuff and I've yet to see any of my other mates on here. Unless they are in disguise :blink:

I tell everyone that I come here, and nothing changes they all think I am barking anyway. My Mum once popped on - but thank god she didn't stay!! Apparently it was all in the interests of research for her degree.

I tried to get another firend to join - but she said that she didn't want to meet serial killers and axe murderers online or in RL. So I get to keep all my lovely 'axe murderers and serial killers' to myself, hmm cosy!:laugh:

I've referred to "my forum" before to be given a strange look and asked "your what?" I don't care if any of my friends come on here, most of them know me too well already as I'm quite an open person. I have in fact encouraged one or two to come on, but they aren't interested. I've also had the "pervert" warning. To a non internet user it seems like a dark hole where pervs sit and masturbate or something looking for prey - vulnerable young ladies... the truth is that there are probably loads of them on the net as well as walking along the street with you, behind you in Sainsbury's or sitting next to you on the tube. I just think be wary wherever.

I wouldn't like my mummy and daddy to come on here ever! Thats because they have high standards and I have a mummy and daddy mask, works fine, keeps everybody happy :book:

Everyone knows that i post on a message board, but only my hubby i think could possibly know the name of it. He wouldnt come on here anyway. For starters he wouldnt know how, and secondly he wouldnt be remotely interested.

When i went to the 1st meet i told a porky and told people i was out with friends. I didnt think my husband would be too happy with me venturing into the night with a load of people i didnt know. I soon 'fessed' up, and when it came to the 2nd meet he actively encouraged me to go. He had seen the photos from the first one and he knew everyone looked kinda normal :blink:

I mention you guys periodically. Maybe its because of a debate we are having, or you said something that made me laugh. So he knows i still post, although maybe not as much as i used to.

I don't really have anyone I wouldn't want to know I visit here.....what I say on here is pretty much what I say to them most of the time anyway.....What you see is what ya get with me....I'm not that complicated that I need to hide anything from anyone! ......unless......oooo yeah.... :unsure:

In all seriousness though, Ive never needed to tell her - or anyone for that matter - about it. It's not that Im ashamed about it or ashamed of any of you lot. It's just something I like to keep to myself :)

I do mention the MB in conversation to people but, as with what other people have said, they think I'm sad - which is fine by me, everyone has an opinion.

I keep trying to get my sis on here but she is having none of it - I'm fairly sure that she thinks if she gets involved, one of us is going to leap through the monitor & corrupt her in her living room! :laugh:
