I really really REALLY wanna go in a floatation tank, but I don't know anyone who's ever been, and whether or not it's any cop.

The idea of floating in a completely quiet dark tank for an hour sounds like bliss to me, and I'm trying to get Cockney to buy me a session or three.

So, has anyone any experience of them? Do you really need to do a course of sessions, or is that just advertising gumpf to make you pay more up front?

etc,

Tank or a pool Floopy?

I know a fab place where you can float in a small pool under the stars (well, fake stars...)

Get Cockers to take you for the babe's birthday:thumbsup:

I did it once.

It was nice, relaxing, I fell asleep.

When I woke up I had a sore neck, I think because it was at a different angle to when I lie on a pillow.

I'd recommend it. For what it's worth.

It's our wedding anniversary on Saturday...:pimp:

probably tank, but I'd consider a pool, although I like the completely enclosed ideas of the tank.

Can someone please tell me WHY, when reading Floppys post, I had the mental picture of Eddie and Patsy in Ab Fab??????

I would love to have a go too Floops, my mate Wayne has had a go several times.................he also spent millenium eve on a tropical island in the indian ocean completely nekked

Im sure the place in Leamington that does them, you can book one at a time, I would guess that its an advertising ploy to get you to book more!

Dont forget the whale and dolphin CD to listen to when you go

I think the closest I got to a floatation tank was the MRI scanner at the hospital  but that was anything but peaceful.

Seriously though, it does sound lovely as long as you are not claustrophobic. I used to like to lie on my back in the swimming pool and just float, until someone tried to lie on me cos they thought I was a blow-up lilo ;)

That reminds me, time to eat something healthy and low calorie.

I had a flotation tank session in Dubai as a birthday pressie from my sister.

It was wonderfully relaxing. I didn't quite fall asleep, but I drifted off into an almost meditative state which was even better. The time flew by, and at the end of the session I felt like I had woken from the best night's sleep ever. I felt mellow for the rest of the day.

I'd do it again.

Well I just asked Cockney if I could go and he said "only if you promise to drown".

You see why I need stress relief

Aww Floopy.

Why don't you buy him a Shiatsu Massage for the anniversary?

I had one of those once too, and it bluddy hurt like hell!

Unfortunately the thought of floatation tanks reminds me of the film Wedlock .... and that kinda puts me off

Im also a tad claustrophobic, so i couldnt do it. Like Critique i have been in an MRI scanner and i panicked a bit  I thought they would all walk off and leave me there, trapped in this white, bright tunnel
