If you could chose any of the following options, which would it be, and why?

I thought hard over this and crossed a few off straight away (flying, time travel, good looks) and thought deeper about the others to find drawbacks to get down to world peace, stop poverty and find cure.

If by world peace you mean stop wars, then it can only be good. But does it also go as far as there will never be another argument ever? Will everyone be of the same opinion? The world would go stale. So depending on how far you wanna go with peace then I'll say no. (This doesn't mean I want wars and people getting blown up but I'm just trying to think of some of the other effects)

Stop hunnger and cure for cancer/AIDS... surely these can only help the world to grow. Both are incredibly widespread and can't be helped. It'd be hard to say which I'd prefer to get rid of. I went for cure in the end, but can't really say why.

Right:

Eternal Life - sounds like a nightmare. An eternity of this crappy, irritating world and all the idiots it contains? No thanks! Next!

Eternal Peace: Well I won't be here for eternity, so I don't care. I also wonder just how sterile we'd have to be to achieve this? Nah.

World Peace: See above.

End to poverty and famine: Poverty and famine are not accidents, they are man made tragedies, and they can be resolved with will on the part of those responsible. If there is no will, that isn't my problem, so no this is not for me.

Perfect body and looks: I already have these. Seriously though, being good looking counts for nowt. You just end up as a trophy girlfriend, or being controlled and manipulated by insecure men who desperately want you on their arm but feel threatened by your attractiveness. What's the point? Being average looking but working on your personality seems to attract a better quality of person; relationships are not made on looks alone.

Find a cure for cancer and AIDS: I actually believe disease has a purpose in nature. The human race is expanding too quickly; it has to be held back by SOMETHING, otherwise we would ALL be starving and have nowhere to live. Unpleasant though these diseases are for the people concerned, our mortality is necessary to sustain future human life. When we've had our time, I think we should accept it and shuffle off this mortal coil. So no, I wouldn't wish for this - all that will happen is another disease will come along to take their place (like MRSA for example).

Invent a healthy cigarette that reduces chance of illness: Attractive in itself; but not a priority. And for some reason healthy pursuits never seem that exciting; I bet if a "healthy" cigarette WERE invented, all the world's smokers would ignore it and carry on chuffing away at their cancer sticks!

Invent time travel: Why? Who cares? What's done is done, what's to come will come anyway, and you'll deal with it and move on, or curl up and die. Your choice. Time travel wouldn't change it. It won't even settle arguments, because if two people travelled back to 1066, you'd still get two different accounts of it - just ask any of us who have to take witness statements from people!

Learn to fly unaided: Admittedly this might get me to Bluewater quicker, but if everyone got in on the act they'd probably FLY like idiots instead of DRIVING like idiots, so no.

A MILLION POUNDS A YEAR: Bring it on! I could stop working to live, and instead do something I enjoyed without having to worry about it failing. I could travel the world and see a bit of other cultures. I could buy myself the stuff I wanted and don't say it wouldn't make me happy - IT DOES. I LOVE shopping! I could have Botox, be pampered, have a chef and a personal trainer, and do the stuff I LIKED rather than the stuff I HAD to do just to pay the bills. Bliss.

Anyway that was long winded in the extreme so I'll go now!!

In the words of Joseph Campbell "follow your bliss" that is my principle motivation. Not happiness, material wealth, health, world changes but the bit in you that is like a toothache. Follow that.

I'll have the Million squids in my account, thank you very much. I nearly voted for the "healthy fag" option, but the cash won me ove rin the end.

All other options are just pipe dreams realy, aren't they.

im a person that cares for the enviroment and stuff.....man is destroying it, and it cant defend itself

whereas man made poverty....and poverty in itself will gradually get better

so I would go for a enviorment thingy if it was there....but because there isnt ill go for the poverty....shocking images on red nose day if u ask me

Has to be time travel!
I couldn't have picked something like eternal life. Imagine spending the next million years waiting for my numbers to come up on the loto or still trying to get down to 10 stone when I'm 50,000 years old.

Ceri you're forgetting something about time travel and thats loto!
I could get the million pounds every week if I wanted and still go back and kick Henry VIII in the bullsocks

Went for the cash option as the lottery ticket in my handbag represents money I could have given to charity mercenary it maybe but its an honest answer.

..... errrrrr ... I dunno? I am hopeless with decisions can I have a few??

Yes of course I can - this is not for real, I will have half a pound of ridding the world of poverty and famine, 1/2 lb of world peace, 3/4 lb of curing cancer and HIV, give me hundreds of the fags that are healthy please, I am not into time travel or eternal stuff so I will take a rain check on them, - but yeah go on stick a million in my bank account every year and thats about it!

What I would really like is a 48 hour day!! And to only sleep for about 10 hours of that - so I can keep in touch with important things, like firends and family.

Some good points there Ceri - thought similar myself......so yep, the shallow bi'atch will go for the million quid in the bank!

What are you doing next Friday????

Come on, we all know it's gotta be the million squid!!!!

But a point I was thinking about is, it depends so much on your circumstances.

I mean if you were already loaded you wouldn't go for the million a year, and if a loved one had cancer, you'd go for the cure.

It's funny seeing people's answers though.

I'll take the moral high ground and go for world peace, which would give people more chance to cure cancer/aids, less goverment spending on defence (more money for average joes like me). Eternal life would just get boring, eternal peace sounds like death, and vanity is so shallow :smartie:

I picked the shallow option of the money. It would allow me to choose how I wanted to live and let me help out my sisters and mum and dad. I could travel round the world, not have to work part time to fund my degree. The best bit is that I could collect the best selection of dolls houses, including building a stately home in miniature with really top notch crafts people making all the furniture. Oh and I could buy my own big old home to put it in.

Am rather fortunate in beleiving death is just the beginning and we meet all our loved ones in the next life - so already have eternal life. Plus its alot better than on this planet as theres no more pain, just all the cream cakes you can eat and not exercise required.

I went for time travel. I'm assuming this time travel malarky is just for me and not for anyone else :)

It's not as selfish as it first sounds as I can cover several of the options in the poll.

No problem having a million paid into my account every year as I could hop back now and then and win the lottery.

Eternal life: By going back in time I can prolong my life as long as I want.

Eternal peace: Relive the point at which things started to go wrong and hopefully make them better for everyone.

World peace: There's a lot I could do here. I could warn people about the WTC disaster, assuming anyone believed me and I wasn't arrested or locked up in a nut house.

Find a cure for Cancer and AIDS: It hasn't been found yet, but on the assumption that sometime in the future a cure is discovered, all I need do is fast-forward to that moment and return to my time with the explanation.

Time travel has a lot going for it.

Sorry, I went for the money too. However, much of it would be shared with others, including charities. Is that ok?

I voted world peace, because I think it makes me sound nicer  seriously though, all of the above would be nice but I think I would rather do something beneficial for mankind than myself. Not because I am that good, but because the guilt would be too annoying otherwise :)

Of course in an ideal world, I'd wish for world peace and everyone would send me heaps of money as a thank you
