The line-up of stars who will fight it out to be ruler of the jungle in the new series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Has been finalised, it was reported today.

It will include a couple – former East 17 frontman Brian Harvey and model Emma B – for the first time, according to The Sun.

Included in the list is also reportedly model Sophie Anderton, comedian Joe Pasquale, Anne Charleston, who played Madge in Neighbours, former All Saints star Natalie Appleton, and journalist Janet Street-Porter.

Singer Sheila Ferguson from the Seventies’ group The Three Degrees and Former page three girl Jilly Johnson, now 52, are the final team members confirmed.

The celebs have apparently been kept apart for the last ten days and won't meet up until they are in the jungle.

So what do you think of the line-up?? Good, bad?

Janet street Porter is a massive long distance walker. I never noticed her charisma, she irritates me in a way I can not ignore as her opinions are worth listening to. I rather hoped sandi toksvig would lighten up and go in I would like to see six rounds between her and Joe pasquale, maybe janet will trounce him.
Anne Charleston aka Madge from neighbours will get the girls involved, so the family will be watching now and then regardless. I did not watch one minute of the last series.

Have to agree, the line up is particularly Z List. It's very disappointing. At least last year and the year before we had slebs who were pretty well known. Sheila Ferguson, Jilly Johnson are slebs from the seventies for goodness sake :glare:

It doesn't sound that exciting, but it will all depend on the right mix I think.
Wasn't Tony Blackburn from the 70's? and when did Uri first start out?

Cat

I think its ok, think back to other line ups...

Darren Day!! he bought out hilarious scenes with TPT.
Toni Blackburn!! Logfantastic
Peter Andre...do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do is this insania
Anthony Warrell Thompson and his drunken spats with Linda and Phil
Catellina and her incredible pouting lips
TPT - plain bonkers

to name just a few.....

I don't understand. IAC becomes more popular with each series and yet the celeb status of the participants goes down.

Do you think it's because anyone who is higher than Z list is charging too much to appear or just that they've got more sense.

I tend to agree with Maxine I'm afraid Cat. I do find Joe Pasquale's voice intensely irritating, and would probably want him out for that reason alone, unfair as it is.

Fran Cosgrave is also being rumoured to have signed up. Who? He's a former nightclub boss who had a baby with Natasha Hamilton from Atomic Kitten. Registered users see the attached image for photo of Fran.

The final line-up will be officially announced Tuesday.

Wasn't Tony Blackburn from the 70's? and when did Uri first start out?Though Tony Blackburn wasnt that famous but im pretty sure that most people, young and old recognised him, and Uri Geller - despite starting out in the 70s WAS still famous and pretty much a regular in the tabloids every few months or so. Sheila Ferguson and Jilly Johnson have done nothing since retiring and havent exactly been about much the last fifteen years  have they?

I know the IAC producers will have a hard time topping last years programme, but I have to say I thought they'd have made more of an effort than this. Last years slebs were slated for being C listers , this lot look like Z listers !

I was a bit surprised by the Appleton - will she able to make do without her slap for a fortnight?

And Joe Pasquale - PURLEASE!! We'll have to get him out of there straight away - I can't stand his voice!

As for Fran Cosgrave (or whatever his name is) I thought the only thing he was famous for was going out with Jodie Marsh (or was it Jordan?)

Sheila Ferguson and Anne Charleston - who cares?? Ditto Emma B, I don't even know who she is. And some bloke that used to be in East 17 - who? They weren't even THAT famous at the time were they?

The last series was so good I really think they should have left it there. This one is already looking like it could be as boring as Series 2.

Crikey, I think Im just going to let Ceri type and put ditto under her posts. Ceri, you frequently, and have done so TWICE today, lol, said exactly what Ive been thinking.
And so far, it looks like more of us find the Pasquale person irritating than those that like him, so hopefully he'll be dropped out the helicopter before they get to camp  :)

Another celeb (?), Nancy Sorrell, appears out of nowhere to go on show.

"SEXY Nancy Sorrell nearly turned down her place on I’m A Celebrity — as she is terrified of BUGS.

The model, married to comedian Vic Reeves, 45, refused an offer to go on Sky One’s Fear Factor for the same reason.

But this ITV1 career-boosting opportunity was too much to resist."
Story over at The Sun (http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,5-2004530703,00.html)

So the list seems to be:
Nancy Sorrell
Brian Harvey
Emma B
Sophie Anderton
Paul Burrell
James Gooding
Joe Pasquale
Natalie Appleton
Anne Charleston
Janet Street-Porter
Jilly Johnson
Sheila Ferguson

Do we normally have 12 contestants? Seems that they will be raking it in with the phones .... if anyone can actually be bothered to vote for half a dozen of them who no-one has ever heard of!

Pandora
15-11-2004, 05:25 PM
........... and is it me, or is there a surfeit of glamour models???? Where's all the decent totty for the women? James Gooding is the only reasonable looking guy, and I dont like him!

I always thought they'd stick to the six girls, six guys format....

I don't believe they are going to break for the half and half male/female format.

Janet Street Porter is a red herring.

Dolores

They're arent' any sports people on the list. They are usually good for being competitive. I still remember John Fash as being one of my faves - he was such a diamond geezer .... if slightly misunderstood!

According to the Manchester Evening news yesterday, "there are still negotiations going on with former Wham! star Andrew Ridgeley, hairdresser to the stars Nicky Clarke and footballer Paul Gascoigne".

Good...more chaps please.

Hi, Karenb34, welcome to the board, hope you enjoy posting here.

I personally think it will be quite a good show if this is the line-up. I'm excited about Huggy bear being in it. Apparently he has never seen the show so doesn't know what he is letting himself in for.

Voice of reason
16-11-2004, 12:00 PM
Yes, welcome Karenb :) Actually I am hoping to be surprised by Joe Pasquale. I admit his voice currently annoys me but in fairness that's all I know of him, so it'll be interesting to see another side and find out what he is like as a person.

So has this 'definite' list been released yet? I can't imagine that there will be more women than men, I agree with Cat, I'm sure they'll stick with the original forumla and make it half and half. I am indifferent to most on the list anyway, if possible it's even more Z list than usual. I once said that they should call the show "I'm a celebrity - honest" but I think this year they should entitle it "I used to be quite well known - do you think I'll be able to get a new job flogging sofas and cheap electrical equipment after the show is over?

Sammy
16-11-2004, 04:04 PM
yeh i think its quite a crap line up this year half the people i never heard of! apart from joe pasquale who will win,he will have everyone in stitches and make the show worth watching! iv seen him live and nearly wet myself imagine being with him for that long!

Well sounds like Janet Street Porter is definately in.

Steve Wright (radio 2) has just announced that she will be on his show tomorrow before she goes into the jungle.

I would have thought they would have already been over there, so to speak, by now!

Bonsai
16-11-2004, 04:35 PM
Maybe they are leaving it till the last minute because i heard on Richard and Judy last night from Lord Brockett, that they all met up before the show last time whilst they were in the hotel and discussed what they should do and how to behave.

So this year the producers are keeping them all apart until they actually go into the jungle.

Well there's still nothing on the itv website about the confirmed celebrities.
I thought they were supposed to be announcing it all today:confused:
