Finally caught back up with this and love it. Isn't Alan gorgeous - I like a moody domineering man.....and DERMOT GAVIN...swoon swoon.

There is a catch up on saturday....will watch that then hopefully I will be able to comment more constructively.

Who's Dermot Gavin Cat?

Once the team led by Paul managed to wangle the motorbike out of the gardening celeb, they were all but home and dry.

I thought the other team were ok, but their tactic of trying to get the celeb to tell them all about themselves rather than coming straight out with what they wanted didn't work. You could see that Mel Smith was getting pretty wound up and just wished they'd get on with it. It was sad that Griff ended up bidding to save his buddy embarrassment.

I was convinced AS was going to fire Raj after he bumbled his way through the meeting with Paul McKenna. Of all the people there, Raj strikes me as the most 'normal' and probably one of the easiest to get on with, but I must have missed something, because I hadn't noticed any great business acumen!

Dermot Gavin is the gardening celeb they managed to wangel the motorbike out of Nox.

TSK!!!

Yes Raj did seem the most normal - and probably least annoying in the fleisch, Sebastian seemed like a right hurray Henry and needed a good punching on his hoity toity pointy nose. But I will watch saturdays catch up and comment fully then.

I don't think Seb's too bad. In fact, in another series with a different boss he might have starred easily, but I agree he's unsuited to the business world of Sugar. Horses for courses.

I was mightily impressed with Miriam last night. She's allowing her strength to show and is definitely my favourite for the title now.

I thought that Raj should have been fired last night - if the man says "you know" ONE more time I am going to screeeeaaam. He may be a nice bloke but he is bumbling and inarticulate. I thought the team did well, its difficult to know how far to press celebrities for favours without looking push and rude. The other team were just lucky to have got the bike and that Dermot O'Leary was such an amiable guy. I also didnt realise that the auction was for other selbs rather than Joe Public, who of course wouldnt have been interested in a tour of GMTV at 5.30 in the morning! I thought Siara was rude and ungracious by booing the other team. She really is irrating and hope she is the next to go although I think Alan S rather likes her for her pure gobbiness.

Paul continues apace to get "most annoying git on tv" award ... I think he's untouchable now!

It's DERMOT GAVIN!!!

Dermot O'Leary is a total different Dermot and had nothing to do with the programme, lovely as he may be.

A pair of very nice Dermots tho....a demi of Dermots even.

Oops, sorry Cat - as you may have guessed I don't watch many gardening programmes.

I had a look at the Apprentice website to find out a little about the backgrounds of the candidates. As you'd expect most of them have got degrees in business and most have them have been high flyers in the past.

But, their profiles also include their current position e.g. a successful banker, or at least I think that's what it said. Several of them appear to have their own businesses which from the blurb makes it sound like they've done very well and are raking in the money. Now, why would anyone who had a truly successful business jack it in to work for Alan Sugar? It doesn't make sense.

And for that matter, how long did it take to film the series? Did they take time off, pack in their job or what? If they're offered the job can they turn it down?

I disagree that getting Dermot's bike was pure luck. Ben pushed for that and went for the hard sell without being pushy, like Saira. He also pushed for more than 50 Chicago tickets.

Tim mared it with Ian Wright, although I think all the celebs were told to give them a hard time by SAS. I don't think Ian Wright would have been like that normally, he has always come across as a nice guy to me.

I'm glad Seb's gone, he's a posh fop. Got nothing against posh, but SAS is right, WHAT HAS HE DONE? Raj is always co-operative and usually productive, he's just not a very good talker when put on the spot.

Paul is annoying, but I think he's funny and he's quite motivational within the team.

Miriam and Ben are coming up on the outside and I think will overtake Saira and Paul at the next corner. Ben's team leadership this week was really good and I think Miriam is generally very level headed and tactful, but not a walkover.

Love it, love it, love it, love it, although now (apart from Paul and Saira) they're all being a bit too nice to each other.

Put Saira and Paul on the same team again to spice it up.

But Sugar has - he mentioned the Sugar type that belongs in his organisation which presumably means being like Sugar himself ie a bit gobby and pushy. Of the remaining contenders I think Paul is the most fitting - Saira is close but has a bit too much talk and I think Sugar sees through it. Of the rest I think Ben would provide a good level headed foil to the Sugar bluntness, he and Sugar would make a good working combination.

With you on that one SF. Paul was rubbish with the posh types at the art gallery, but SAS likes his pushiness and gobbiness. He is a little bit as weee, but not so wooo as SAS. When he's good, he's really good, like with the flowers in the first one. When he's out of water, his blagging doesn't help him, much like Saira really, but I think she's gonna get on SAS's nerves.

Ben seems to be on the most even keel so far, he definitely has the killer instinct which I think James, Tim and Raj lack.

You have to be able to think on your feet and make quick decisions and, whilst Saira could talk her way out of most situations, her decisions have not been great.

Think Miriam will outlast Saira, hope so anyway.

I wasnt surprised to see Seb go - hes a wet blanket!

I cant STAND Paul - hes full of :pooh: and a bit sleazy.....when he was climbing out of the cab to get a hug with Miriam and Tim, I was roaring laughing saying to Mr Q that no one would be able to get a grip on the slimey toad to give him a hug

I would like to see Miriam or Ben win....

Raj dealing with Paul McKenna was another hillarious bit, what a muppet - he struggles to string a sentance together sometimes!

And finally......Dairmuid Gavin.....pwoooar :naughty:

And finally......Dairmuid Gavin.....pwoooar :naughty:

Quite and finally the right name - and yes massive PHWOOAAARR!!

Saira just irritates me, she is so full of herself, but as someone says Alan Sugar likes her gobiness and total self confidence.

I warmed to Ben last night, he was utterly confident without screaming about it. Miriam was superb [as usual].

Paul is funny, he is as equally irritating as Saira, but at least he has a sense of humour, and he does seem to have a good rapport with most people. He is so a used car salesman - and I think people can see that a mile off!

Raj - is useless, an amiable buffoon - and of course he was star struck by Paul McKenna - and I know Mariarob about the 'yoy know' business - he just says um arr you know - and thinks that passes for conversation???

Seb is a bit woolly really, not very sharp.

It was a definite toss up between Raj and Seb - actually I thought Raj should have gone.

The Sugar empire, is the way it is because Alan Sugar has a billionaire grip on his assets and he is no fool. He knows what he is after and he will get who he wants. At the moment for me it is Miriam, but I wonder does she have the spunk that Saira has??

And I wanted to know what Anthony Worrall Thompson donated to the auction - they seemed to miss him out - wonder why??

They skimmed over a few of them didnt they. I thought Paul was VERY VERY rude about Michael Winner's prize of dinner for four at The Ivy by comparing it with Darimund's admitedly generous donoation of a motorbike, by saying it was burger and chips!!!!! what an odious character Paul is. He is very very derogatory about women, rude about the other "competitors" and when he's in a corner he squeals like a stuck pig! .....great tv though -keep him in til the end then let a woman beat him! (oh and I do mean literally, not Miriam or Saira!!).
