View Full Version : Name Cat's Room..........
Patsy 03-04-2005, 04:11 PM Cat has a room between her kitchen and her hallway, which isn't part of the hallway and isn't part of the kitchen. It has doors at both ends, although they are never closed.
It is on the one hand a thoroughfare between the hall and the kitchen, and on the other hand a room in itself.
This is where she sits when she is speaking to us and I really think it needs a name (and I don't mean like "Dave" or "Carol").
So, with your permission Cat, I would like to invite everyone to ...........
Name That Room.
I won't vote because I know it too well and feel I could influence the vote.
Oh thats very thoughtfull of you Pats, we never know what to call this room....its a alcove thats a room...I have fortunately spent most of today cleaning it...infact I could take some pics...
..yes..off I go.
Patsy 03-04-2005, 04:24 PM are you going to show them first, or keep the pics for later?
Dolores 03-04-2005, 04:27 PM Firstly i can't beleive it took that long to clean out an alcove!!!
secondly I'm waiting for the photos before i start giving out names willy nilly!!
Well the sort of names that spring to mind are:
snug
office
family room
we have a family room, but I much prefer a 'snug'!!

She's taken some pics and is trying to load them as we type. I know what you're saying, Flippy, but I don't think any of the above would suit.
I think we should suggest a prize now, which should be awarded in Portsmouth, maybe?

LOBBY
Cat - Did Hilda give you her ducks when she moved? :ninja:

Dolores 03-04-2005, 05:00 PM Blimey - it's some alcove!
I'd call it the parlour
Cat's Parlour
I can almost picture her with her pinny on, a fag hanging out of her mouth, bright red lippy (some of it actually on her lips) and a broom, guarding it with her life!
Dolores 03-04-2005, 05:01 PM The Parlour.
golly .... talk about great minds!!! ... or is the other one about fools?!

Critique 03-04-2005, 05:18 PM Cat, when you make a mess does it become "Cat Litter" - boom boom
Patsy 03-04-2005, 05:31 PM A quick re-cap then, to help Cat keep track.
The names we have so far are:-
Willy ) Dolores (did I misunderstand?)
Nilly )
Cat's Parlour)
Snug )
Office ) Flip
Family Room )
Vestibule - Pandora
LOBBY - Patsy
Parlour )
Pussy's Parlour ) Maxine
Cat Litter (when messy) - Critique
Cheekychops 03-04-2005, 05:33 PM What about The Den cos it looks like a little Den to me.
Cat's Den of Iniquity maybe? :)
So far I like lobby and parlour, but am very confused about Buzz's use of the big C,.

The Den (or Cat's Den of Iniquity) - Cheekychops
current favourites are Parlour and LOBBY
Cat's surname isn't Ogden, ils.
So they are just friends.... :D
I like Lobby & Cat's Den
I think it should be called a SCULLERY
I think it should be called a SCULLERY
Oh of course is shouldn't.
Scullery: Place for washing dishes, despicable person, kitchen underservant.
Sometimes PJ I could really stop loving you.
Get a grip.
:mad2:
Isn't a scullery a room adjoined to the kitchen where dishwashing and/or other kitchen duties are done? Surely you must do some kitcheny stuff in there you big tart.
Fee For All 03-04-2005, 05:57 PM How about The Skulkery then?
annex
cattery
pink room
inner shed ( )
communications centre
I have a high fever... if these are crap it's not my fault... night night
What about calling it "Cat's room"
Patsy 03-04-2005, 06:22 PM do you like any of the above Cat, before I cut myself pasting?
mazwad 03-04-2005, 06:29 PM what about Durbar its indian for an audience hall which you certainly have when you're posting and it also sounds like somewhere to have a skinfull.
Hold fire patsy..just going to dish up dinner...

what about Durbar its indian for an audience hall which you certainly have when you're posting and it also sounds like somewhere to have a skinfull.
I like this Maz..the Durbar room. how do you pronounce in properly.
What's the title of the book bottom shelf 4th from right in the bookcase by pc cos I'm a nosey cow.
Squinting...as the pic cut off a few books..its either the Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown or Ecstasy by Irvine Walsh.
No porn I'm afraid Maz
When's my cut off then Pats..cos I like Maz'z suggestion best.
The Purple Plum Durbar Room,
I shall think of it thus.
Cheers Maz
PS are you a bit of a perv?
Fee For All 03-04-2005, 08:13 PM Purple Plum Durbar Room - or PP for short.
I like it! I can imagine you getting your inspiration in the pee-pee room.
Patsy 03-04-2005, 08:15 PM I personally preferred the Den, but the purple ploppy Dunbar room it is.......
It is quite obvious no-one is going to agree so make one up:
Parlour and lobby = Palobby
Den and Snug = Dug
Vestibule and Scullery = Vestilery
or vice versa = Sculabule <- ooooo I like this one - 'Yes darling bring me my G & T, I am in the Scualabule'

oo yes yes yes I like that ....................... Sculabule for me Cat.
(switches off computer and goes to France)
Andrea 03-04-2005, 09:53 PM I think you should call it the SOS room.
The Survovor Online Suite :w00t:
Pinching a bit from Andrea's & Checkychops suggestions
Survivor Online Den The SOD
or even
Survivor Online Lobby The SOL
survivorfan 04-04-2005, 11:39 AM How about naming it after the room the Romans used when they had been eating and drinking to excess, to have a clear-out so they could get stuck in again ...
The Vomitarium
being as Cat is such a WITCH, how about "The Coven"
mazwad 04-04-2005, 04:54 PM No I don't do porn its too repetative but do like noseying at other peoples books its quite surprising what some people have on their shelves. For instance we now know you like pub grub and have travelled in Europe or are planning to. Mr M has a little porn and lots of ideas as I explained on agony thread.
Crikey, in my house a room that size would be the lounge!
I like the Durbar suggestion - sounds very exotic.
But if you're making up names you could join the scullery and the lobby together to get the Scubby. Anyone seen Cat? Oh she's in the Scubby again.
Ceridwen 04-04-2005, 06:30 PM Why don't you just call it The Crevice or The Orifice? Very fitting for someone of Cat's general demeanour I would say. :bag:
Dolores 04-04-2005, 09:18 PM Why don't you just call it The Crevice or The Orifice? Very fitting for someone of Cat's general demeanour I would say. :bag:
excellent suggestins both of 'em Ceri! I think I'd plump for the orifice if I had to chose!
if ever I'm invited into Cat's palace I will refer to this "between room" as the orifice!
the orifice!
see not too far off my original suggestion - office, just a bit of jiggery pokery with an 'i' and hey presto an Orifice!! likin it!!:wink_kiss
