View Full Version : Name Cat's Room..........

Patsy

Cat has a room between her kitchen and her hallway, which isn't part of the hallway and isn't part of the kitchen. It has doors at both ends, although they are never closed.

It is on the one hand a thoroughfare between the hall and the kitchen, and on the other hand a room in itself.

This is where she sits when she is speaking to us and I really think it needs a name (and I don't mean like "Dave" or "Carol").

So, with your permission Cat, I would like to invite everyone to ...........

Name That Room.

I won't vote because I know it too well and feel I could influence the vote.

Well the sort of names that spring to mind are:

we have a family room, but I much prefer a 'snug'!!

She's taken some pics and is trying to load them as we type. I know what you're saying, Flippy, but I don't think any of the above would suit.

I think we should suggest a prize now, which should be awarded in Portsmouth, maybe?

Blimey - it's some alcove!

I'd call it the parlour

Cat's Parlour

I can almost picture her with her pinny on, a fag hanging out of her mouth, bright red lippy (some of it actually on her lips) and a broom, guarding it with her life!

Isn't a scullery a room adjoined to the kitchen where dishwashing and/or other kitchen duties are done? Surely you must do some kitcheny stuff in there you big tart.

Parlour and lobby = Palobby

Den and Snug = Dug

Vestibule and Scullery = Vestilery

or vice versa = Sculabule <- ooooo I like this one - 'Yes darling bring me my G & T, I am in the Scualabule'

No I don't do porn its too repetative but do like noseying at other peoples books its quite surprising what some people have on their shelves. For instance we now know you like pub grub and have travelled in Europe or are planning to. Mr M has a little porn and lots of ideas as I explained on agony thread.

Crikey, in my house a room that size would be the lounge!

I like the Durbar suggestion - sounds very exotic.

But if you're making up names you could join the scullery and the lobby together to get the Scubby. Anyone seen Cat? Oh she's in the Scubby again.

if ever I'm invited into Cat's palace I will refer to this "between room" as the orifice!
