View Full Version : 2005 Festivals......
Well, despite my bestest efforts, I was unable to secure Glastonbury tickets AGAIN this year
I am thinking of having a mini Glastonbury in my garden - invite the gang down from Leamington and have the pitch their tents in the back garden and then pump up Radio 1 :w00t: not sure the neighbours will appreciate it though
So has anyone else been lucky enough to get a ticket?
Anyone got any plans for the other Festivals etc?
Andrea 04-04-2005, 01:11 PM One of my ladies circlers, who lives up the road from me went to Glastonbury for the first time 2 years ago with her 20yr old daughter.
She is now addicted, she loved it.
I'm sure she will be going again this year. Not sure how she gets the tickets though.
I know she goes onto a forum all about Glastonbury and the festivals, but can't remember what its called now.
I'd love to go to a festival, but what with the kids, I'll have to wait a few years till they can come with me :w00t:
I have never been to a festival in my life, although I do attend many concerts. The nearest I got to one was when I saw Robbie Williams at Knebworth.......
Not sure I could do living in a field for a few days!

The last time I went was in 2002 Andrea - it was brilliant as ever!
Once you have been, you feel drawn to going back- you get such a sense of freedom when there (although work DID ring me last time :glare: but I told them not to bother ringing back and switched my phone off :w00t: )
Here are a couple of pics of weird and wonderful things you can see there - the 1st one is the "oven" where one of the cafe's in the Green Field did their baking......

and this is the "tree man" which was carved especially for the Festival in 2002!

Andrea 04-04-2005, 01:38 PM It looks fantastic Isis.
Actually you didn't hear of a woman getting knocked out by a frisbee or it might have been a skateboard, that was my neighbour. :w00t:
When is it actually on?

At least your neighbour wasnt the woman filmed naked and self abusing :shocking: in front of one of the stages......there were pics and videos all over the net afterwards.....
Its usually the last weekend in June, I never even thought about the dates
I think we suggested getting tickets but I haven't heard anything, so I think it's doubtful.
Well looks like I may be going to a Festival this year after all........ my bessie mate in the Midlands called me yesterday to say that there is a group of them got tickets for the Beautiful Days Festival in August :cool2: cant wait.....

Do you know, I KNEW there was something familiar about her :w00t:
Sounds like the Radio One "One Big Weekend" is going to be a blinder, they have got some great acts playing this year, just hope they come south for next years :cool2:
Peej, you should check out to see if you have got any little local Festivals - wont be as expensive either, and regardless of whether you are "into" the music, its always a brilliant atmosphere.....I prefer the smaller ones to be honest!
"T in the Park" is kinda local for me!
Anyway, I'll be off globe-trotting when it's on so I suppose I can't complain...
